Holmes 77 Highlands 68

Rico could have taken over tonight, but he isn't the type of player to force things. He lets the game come to him which is why you rarely see him take over unless it's necessary. He is a very unselfish kid and makes EVERYONE around him better. Holmes is lucky to have him.

Holmes as a team is very unselfish though. I think this is one of the closest Holmes teams I've seen in a while. The Johnson Brothers and Pittman/Arnold are going to be tough to handle next year.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Arnold move in to the starting 5 if he can continue to progress the way he is and learn to control his emotions.

Possibly something to look forward to come tourny time, like last year with Eli.

I think the best 5 Holmes can have on the floor however is:

PG Riley

SG Housley

SF R. Johnson

PF J. Johnson

C Pittman

You don't want Arnold and Pittman both picking up 2 quick ones starting together, then being in foul trouble all game. That could be disaterous.

Anybody watching ch 19.

This was the first games I have seen Henley give it to a ref. It was a great moment for me. I've been waiting on it for years

The lady ref. I know exactly what you are talking about, I thought he was going to get a "T". He was furious about a foul call on an apparent jump ball situation. I was glad to see it though.

She is the same ref that T'd Arnold up once this year, and the same ref that T'd up Pittman for dunking in pre-game at Lloyd memorial tourny.

Yeah, he is usually pretty quiet. I wish I could have seen him get on the refs. IMO: He needs to do more of it. :thumb:

The lady ref that did Holmes game tonight is absolutely horrible and has been horrible all 3 times I've seen her do Holmes games. At one point she was the only one blowing the whistle. IMO she needs to realize this isn't girls basketball and let the boys play a little. BTW..she's a Holy Cross grad I believe.............

It was great and worth the wait. That lady ref shows she's from Holy Cross everytime she ref's Holmes games. But I do want to thank her for bringing that out of Henley. I have never seen Henley so mad:madman:.

Possibly. Housely is more prone to foul trouble though which is the reason you don't see him start. Housely is probably better offensively when compared to D. Johnson, but Dom is a much better defender IMO which is the reason he gets the start.

I guess I am a rare fan that prefers the coach to have more of a cool attitude toward the officials and concentrate on the game. With that said, the calmest has to go off when really warranted!:thumb:

It must be Lori Edgington sp? She is absolutely a terrible ref.

I agree. Henley really let her have it tonight, and she deserved every minute of it. Did you notice after Henley said something to her she finally took the whistle out of her mouth and let the boys play a little bit?

Anyone who knows Henley knows that he is probably one of the coolest, calmest coaches in NKY. It takes a lot to fire him up. It was refreshing to see him give her a piece of his mind because she is absolutely HORRIBLE. She did the same thing to Holmes against Holy Cross earlier in the year as well when Holmes started pulling away.

It was right as the Dawgs were watching there big lead in the 3rd disolve, there were some whistles that were questionable and Highlands had all the momentum. I think it was a motivation tool for his guys more than anything.

After 21 from Holmes was fouled and went down to the floor, #3 walked over top of him. The ref saw it and let #3 know it he did.

Holmes is a fun high school team to watch. The Highlands kids were tough.

Did anyone besides me think Pittman walked before the windmill dunk? No way the refs could have called it as I think the Highlands fans would have felt ripped off.

Whatever happened to student sections?
