I will be grateful for all updates on Friday nights. I have to work those nights (except for the sept. 11th game, I wonder why) and will go nuts if I don't know how everything goes.

It's really hard to tell who anyone is with different jerseys and all. But overall it seems the rams have put in alot of work in the offseason. Seems to be alot of speed on the field this year. Alot of very fast skill guys! And Barr is going to a very tough player this year!

It is an exciting time of the year. I know there was some talk on here awhile back about who the QB is going to be. I would assume it's been decided by now given there's only 2 weeks until the opening game...so who is it? :-) Is Barr going to be starting at running back? If so, who's going to be lining up with him in the backfield?

 

I would have to agree that by now the coaches know who is starting. IMO Tyler Farley should be the starter the young man has been there since JFL(just a guess, I know he played middle school for the Rams) He saw playing time last year and knows the system and the tradition. But then if Rister starts it will go to show why I am on BGP's typing and not on the sidelines coaching...lol

I am so looking forward to listening to the games on the webcast this season. I would love to be there but it is a far ride from NJ. GO RAMS!!! GO J.Barr!! That kid will give you 110 %. It is just his nature. I am so proud of him!!

Overall the Rams looked like a team in the preseason, but I am happy with the overall team speed. A little rust here, and a little rust there, but in good shape. They are not where they need to be yet, it is going to take some players stepping up and doing what needs to be done. But, overall I see promise. They are not ready for Boyd County or Ashland yet, I hope the players realize this, and fix the problems.

 

Scotty Craft has grown a foot, and gained some much needed confidence. I was really pleased with his effort and performance. I was very glad to see it.

 

Tyler Farley looked more mature in the pocket, still room for improvement, but I would say he was pretty good overall. Made some nice throws, and had a few good scrambles for good yardage. He also had some nice punts. I think he looked pretty good.

 

Jeremy Barr is going to be a tough guy to bring down, he runs hard and gives a great effort, reminiscent of Brett Denton. I also see him being someone that other offenses want to know where he is when he is playing defense.

 

Loran Huffman had some nice kick returns, has some catches, and made some very nice defensive plays. I think we are going to see some good things from him this year.

 

Jett Troxler had some nice runs, I think he is hungry and ready to play, he looks to be in great shape, and runs well. I can't wait to see him in game speed.

 

The offensive line of Johnson, Grant, Caudill, Compton, may not be as big and strong as last years, but they have size, and may be a little faster then last year. I think they will be OK.

 

Marcus Reed looked good at QB, I think he has matured quite a bit, he also seemed calm, but he looked more poised in the pocket, made some nice throws, overall looked good. I think we will see great things from him in the future.

 

Micheal Litteral looks strong and fast. Seems like he is hungry for playing time, and I think he may get it. He runs hard and has some speed that many may not expect.

 

Didn't see a lot of Bobby McKee, we are aware of what he can do, and I think the coaches know that, but he will be ready in a week or two.

 

Mason Rister still out with a hand injury, he hopefully will be ready to return in a couple of weeks. No matter where he plays, I think he will make the team better. Good luck to him in a speedy return.

Well, I am going to be negative about last night. I think we can change our nickname from the Rams to the Lambs! We didn't hit at all!!!!!! My second grade JFL boys will hit and tackle that hard. I saw move lovin' on tackles than on my wife's favorite soap opera. We are green sticks and need to improve greatly in the next 14 days! JMO

I have seen several Raceland teams in the past that may not have been that good as far as talent and athleticsism but they won football games a lot of times on the way they would hit you. Opponets got tired of getting hit and hit hard on every snap. Your "no hitting" report is very disapointing to hear. I certainly hope that will be corrected immediately if not sooner! Should that continue, this will be a very long and very dissapointing season of Raceland football.

I will agree with Doc on tackling. Defense needs work! Open field tackling was more like one arm tackling. But I'm sure Hoof and Maynard got some good looks at what needs to be done. So next week the boys will be put to work.

On another note Farley has improved 100% from last year. I had to ask who it was because I couldn't believe it was him running around and stepping up and throwing like that. He has developed alot more agility and speed from his game last year.

And not sure who Runningback #5 was without real jerseys. But he was also very impressive with his spin moves and breaking tackle abilitys.

Cody Grant's Defensive game was played well too. He had several tackles and knocked down a pass or two as well. And he seems to be a strong leader on the fiel with great intensity.

Rams definately have some work to put in this coming week. Lets see if they go to work to get better!

I was pleasantly surprised with Scotty's performance, he was an unknown coming into the season, and I think he is going to make an impact after his effort last night.
