There are 2 that I can think of, the rest are mostly role players at best IMO. Of which, none are very good perimeter shooters.

 

If you have 2 of the top players in the whole country and some decent role players, you should be in the top 20 for sure.

Exactly, those of us that are "overreacting" would just like to see a few in-game adjustments from the coaching staff.

I think we are witnessing that it takes more than that. For this team, we need at least one more consistent scorer and a PG that has at least more assists than turnovers. Even then, this team is fortunate to play in the SEC this season, because in the ACC or the BEast a .500 conference record would be an outstanding accomplishment.

 

I have also said more than a few times here, I really do not see it getting much better next season. Especially when PP is gone... So we will be in year 3 of BCG and still not back to the 26 wins/season average level like we were before he arrived.

Now, after two losses, we get fine folks calling for his head and exclaiming that he isn't getting it done. Before that, hardly no one would trade Gillispie for any other coach. Now we have calls for Horn, Ford, and even Pelphrey.

 

It's humerous, indeed. Things will get turned around, my friends. Yes, we need to win Tuesday night, and we should, Mississippi State is reeling. South Carolina is a tournament team.

No point guard (one that can also shoot the apple among other things) = LOSS!...in games like this.

 

And I also think Billy Clyde's motivational tools, such as no playing time for various reasons, mostly associated with practice, is beginning to catch up with him. I'm a little like Iverson when it comes to the subject of practice. Some players are not very good practice people, but they bring it at game time, and that's what counts.

Kentucky certainly isn't playing their best basketball, and there is no reason to actually fathom that Kentucky would blow them out as in years past. To many turnovers is a direct result of no true point guard. To many people handling the ball to far away from the basket. We need to cut TO's in half.

There's no excuse for the last 2 games. Its almost February.

I wasn't basing the whole "fire coach" argument from you, Wireman. You can calm down. But you happened to be the only one responding to that particular topic so I continued.

 

But, throw all names of teams and coaches out the window and tell me if your coach "isn't getting it done," what do you want to happen to this coach?

 

And outside of that, let's show this:

South Carolina:

15-4 OVERALL

4-2 SEC

#56 RPI

 

Based on these two things, these teams are evenly matched and South Carolina could be a hair better (based on RPI). I just think too many people are lamenating this loss way to thick.

 

Trust me, I am very upset that they lost and I think they should/could have one. But the balls don't always bounce your way. Kentucky seemed to get the bad end on some of the whistles today and things didn't work out so well.
