January 31, 200917 yr Other worthy contenders: Born to Run, The Boss Stairway to Heaven, Zepp Smoke on the Water, Deep Purple Won't Get Fooled Again, The Who All Right Now, Free While not technically "the best", these are the songs of the era that I think of as "rock anthems". I'm sure there are several more.

January 31, 200917 yr Great rock and roll song, but it came out in the mid 60's. That's right but that is a song for all the ages. Remember Michael Keeton & Henry Winkler in the movie night shift. Keeton has the windows tinted in his car pulls up next to cops flipping them off and sorts while that song was playing. Funny stuff. A true classic !!
