stick1 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I'd put Secrateriat (sp) if eligable up there.
Cameraman Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Adolph Rupp Pat Riley Muhammed Ali Paul Hornug
ScarHeel Posted January 22, 2009 Author Posted January 22, 2009 I'd put Secrateriat (sp) if eligable up there. He or She is eligible... Secretariat (Buried in Paris) - Horse of the Year in '72 & 73; Ranked 35th among greatest athletes of 20th century by ESPN Everytime I see the bolded I can't help but chuckle...
3wishes Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Is there somewhere to vote or this just for nominations? I'd vote Adolph Rupp. Just curious but where is Secretariat buried, Paris, Ky or Paris France, I assume Ky but just checking. If it is where at? Why didn't Man O' War race in the Ky Derby?

Henry521 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 I would go with; Adolf Rupp Notable Horses Man o War Secretariet Citation.......:thumb:
Clyde Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 With KY being known as a high school basketball state, I can't imagine leaving off King Kelly Coleman.
Getslow Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Why didn't Man O' War race in the Ky Derby? His owner didn't think that the Kentucky Derby was at the same level of prestige as the East Coast races. He also apparently believed it was too early in the year to race a young horse a mile and a quarter. It wasn't until after Gallant Fox won the Triple Crown that it began to attract the sort of attention it gets now. As for the list: 1) Muhammad Ali 2) Paul Hornung 3) Adolph Rupp 4a) Pee Wee Reese 4b) Dan Issel

The Professor Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Muhammad Ali Adolph Rupp Paul Hornung Dan Issel Pat Riley
HT721 Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Crum should be up there before Pitino in my opinion.
Watusi Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Ali Rupp Horning Secretariat This is tough. I was so close to choosing Reese and Unitas after Ali and Rupp.
rockmom Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Nice to see Never Nervous Pervis on the list!
