May 19, 200917 yr I liked Tony's story...revenge on the man who killed his wife. It worked for me. Yep, I have to agree that did explain it all. I was surprised that Jack didnt kill him in the end.
May 19, 200917 yr I was glad to see Olivia get hers. I guess we are to assume that the treatment worked for Jack. I really liked seeing his daughter step up and show a bit of her dad's guts. As far as agent Walker is concerned, hard to imagine that character going in there and beating up/killing a suspect. I didnt care much for that character this season anyway. How about Agent Walker having a connection with suspect and somehow orchestrating his escape for next season?

May 19, 200917 yr Some ramblings as I watch the show this morning: -They've done an extremely excellent job of making Olivia Taylor thoroughly unlikable. -Classic Kim in peril. It's like the first few seasons all over again. Her shrugging off the burn is hilarious too. Lastly, it's a riot to me to see her spouting off techno babble. It was just as dumb when they did that before, putting her in CTU. Worst. Character. Ever. -Obviously they could go the other way, but as I watch this towards the end of the first hour, you can see Tony really being good coming from a mile away. What does that make him, a double, double agent? A quadruple agent? Tony's my favorite character, and I would rather he be good, but come on people. This is getting thick even for 24.... -Aaron Pierce is one of the best characters on the show. I've missed seeing him in a bigger role. I miss Mike Novick too. -Aaaaaand there it is. I however, didn't see it coming that this guy Tony's trying to kill is apparently behind EVERY major event of the last three seasons. -Uh, no rush to remove the C4 after you disarmed it? Fire, stray bullet, etc. that could set it off? -Tony monologues before shooting Will Patton (since I can't remember the character name).... No worries that there are GOVERNMENT AGENTS around you, and that you clearly don't have time to do this. Another classic cliche. -And we've come full circle, as it seems clear to me that Renee will torture Patton to get the information. It's like I'm hearing the Emperor from Star Wars say "And now your journey to the dark side is complete." -Hooray for President Taylor. Put your daughter in jail! -Sweet, Renee went to the Jack Bauer school of shouting instructions! DO IT NOW!!!!! -Miracle cure time..... "The odds of success are very low" Ah, but this is Jack Bauer we're talking about. I'm amazed he hasn't simply tortured the pathogen into leaving him..... -"I'm sorry Daddy, but I'm not ready to let you go." What a coincidence, the producers aren't either! All told, a pretty weak finale, consistent with the drop off at the end of the season. The show would do a lot better as 12, or at the most 18. They always have to come up with filler, and it causes a lot of weak spots. The first half of the year they had some decently strong stories, but the latter half they didn't at all. They really lost me when Tony turned back by killing Agent Moss.
May 19, 200917 yr [/b] How about Agent Walker having a connection with suspect and somehow orchestrating his escape for next season? I wonder what the time lapse will be between this season/day of 24 and the next... It seems like this season, more than any I can recall on 24, ended to set up a direct sequel. I'm not expecting that, but they certainly ended it that way, IMO. They never completely tie up everything, but I just can't remember that many things being left up in the air. But, assuming it does skip ahead a few months or a year, I'm sure they could fill in the blanks next season as the day progresses if the plot is going to be closely related. I do expect Agent Walker to return next season. I figured Tony would get killed last night. I'm glad he didn't though, I like his character.

They really lost me when Tony turned back by killing Agent Moss. I'll try to comment on these in order... I agree on Olivia Taylor. I don't like Kim either. I'm wondering if the stem cell procedure will save Jack, but result in her death, adding another layer of guilt and anguish to Jack's character. I liked the explanation for Tony's actions. Nothing else would have worked, IMO. However, like you, I got a kick out of him taking his time with Alan Wilson (Will Patton). I told my wife that Tony obviously never watched the old Adam West Batman show, or if he did, he didn't learn anything from the villains. I agree on Aaron Pierce and Mike Novak. And, I would add Ethan Kanin to that list. About the C4...I thought it was funny how Renee was dodging bullets all the way, then when she gets to Jack, they have a conversation and no gunfire is to be heard. It wasn't the best finale ever, but it wasn't that bad for me. I'm curious to see what happens with Agent Walker and Alan Wilson...did she leave and shut the door or did she walk inside and shut the door? Did I miss something there?
May 19, 200917 yr BTW... Day 8 premieres on January 17, 2010 @ 9:00 PM. 1/17/10 - 9-11 PM 1/18/10 - 8-10 PM That's what I read anyway.
March 25, 201016 yr Soooo, anyone still watching? Just finished this week's episode, and really just wanted to ask if they're totally out of ideas, or just lazy? Stop me if you've heard this before: -CTU incapacitated -Mole inside CTU working against them from the inside Oh wait, I just described every season of 24 based around CTU. Fantastic security at that place.

Fantastic security at that place. I like the show, but was thinking the same thing at the end of last week's episode "Again? You gotta be kidding me?" It was unique and totally surprising in Season 1. Now...not so much.
March 25, 201016 yr For all of CTU's intelligence, spyware and droid satellites; one would have to question there own background checks! :idunno:
March 28, 201016 yr It's not surprising they've been canceled. Too many recycled ideas by this point, and too high a cost for declining ratings. I liked the show, but it's great moments just got too few and far in between.
