I suspect the Jeffersontown-Eastern game on Friday night took some of the starch out of them

 

 

Central also played a game Friday night. It was an away game that went right down till the final buzzer. Sounds like apples to apples to me.

I'm very aware of that ... I simply noted that could be the reason that one poster felt Jeffersontown ran out of gas.

Geez! Once again, MC wins, but it's not a "for real" win because the other team was missing a "key" player! MC's Jarvis is not as big a loss as J'town's Jackson? Hmmm...last time I checked anytime you lose a player whether it's a starter or your 6th man it still changes the dynamics of the team.

 

I doubt this game was circled on the MC calendar...they seem to concentrate on the next team on their calendar...whether it's district rival Madison Southern, regional rival Bryan Station, or just another team from the 7th.

As Cawood would say, "hold the phone." Anyone that knows the 7th region realizes that Friday night's game against Eastern has been the talk around Louisville since the start of Christmas break. JTown was ready for this game and gave everything they had in dominating a very good Eastern team. This was the classic "let-down game" for JTown, and anyone that knows eastern Ky, or even any place east of Shelby Co on I-64, knows that county schools can't wait and are chompin' at the bit to get a chance to play the city schools, especially one like JTown. I'm betting Central has had this game circled on their calendar since week one as a measuring stick. This game may not have even been in JTown's top ten most important on the year. Not taking anything away from Madison Central, it was a GREAT win for them, but let's not throw JTown or the 7th region under the bus for one upset. Again, great win for Madison Central.

Anyone who actually thinks Madison Central is an Eastern Kentucky school as the person implied they were, needs to take a visit to Madison county then proceed into Estill county. Two completely different places.

This was an awfully good win for MC, and a testament to their team, but I don't think you're going to get any rational person to believe that MC wasn't geared up for this one a whole lot more than for a game against Madison Southern. Whether they "circled it on the calendar" literally or figuratively, it's beyond belief to think that they were jacked up and looking forward to a date vs. the #2 team in the state.

 

This game tells me more about Madison Central than it does about J-town. Jeffersontown merits their ranking. They've already blasted Eastern - previously undefeated - and outlasted Anderson County, beat LexCath, and topped Manual - all four ranked teams. They also slammed Owensboro by 17, which was Owensboro's first loss (they're 11-2 now). Top teams are going to lose games to good teams. Losing by one in OT is hardly means that J-town isn't worthy of its ranking. However, perhaps MC should be rated higher now...I would say this qualifies as a resounding "yes".

As I've said before, they arguably have the best coach in the 11th, so with that being the case I believe that it is a rare occassion that Feldhouse does not have his team mentally prepared for a game.

Good win by MC. I thought it would be close, but I thought it was Jeffersontown game to win.

J'town has a very good team. Not having Jackson hurt and J'town had a huge win last night. But I wouldn't stick a nail in the coffin concerning J'town's season yet.:lol: No disrespect to Jarvis, but Jackson is a bigger deal to be without him. Hes a fine player.

 

Apparently you haven't seen the Jarvis kid play. I seen him play an outstanding game against Scott County ant the Gateway classic in Montgomery County with Chad Jackson on him all night. Sounds like you are saying Jtown was rated what they were because of Jackson. Jackson is a very good athlete and contributes to the team a lot, but Jtown should still be able to win these games without one player if they are supposed to be in top 5 in the state.
