I'm not too worried yet... They are definitely good, winning 19 in a row is not a fluke. They just need a little shake-up of some sort.

I'm superstitious when it comes to sports, though... And I got a new Celtics jersey for Christmas... They've gone 2-7 since. Should I take it back?

They have no beanch and it needs to be addressed. They are not winning the title w/ this roster.

Yes they are good. They have struggled for 2 weeks in the last 2 years and I expect them to start playing like they are capable again very soon. However, with the addition of Williams and LeBron playing better than he ever has, I think the Cavs MIGHT be better.

The NBA season is LONG. 82 games. With the talent in the league, there is no team that can dominate all 82 games like the Celtics were doing to start the season. They will be fine! I look for a C's and Cavs matchup in the conference finals!

The look old and tired every game and it gets worse as the game goes on, look at the stats. Points scored and FG% drop every quarter. Doc is playing them way to many minutes this early in the season and they are seeing some effects from the long season last year IMO. They aren't the youngest pups anymore and they have no bench.

I agree. I was thinking that earlier when they were in the midst of that great streak. I felt like they were placing too much emphasis on the regular season rather then looking ahead to the playoffs. I think its far more important to make sure KG, Allen, Pierce, and the rest are as healthy and fresh as possible for the playoff run, rather than trying to win 70 games during the season.

However, as for this thread, are you serious? The Celtics are a very, very good team and a title contender. My biggest question when it came to a repeat title was the fact that Boston's team right now is pretty much what they're going to be. Unless they make a big addition through trade, they don't have a lot of room to improve. Their two biggest challengers, Cleveland and LA, should both be better than they are now. The Lakers are still working Bynum back in with Gasol, and adjusting to Odom coming off the bench...and the Cavs added Mo Williams and Lebron is still improving.

I really think we'll see the Cavs and Lakers in the finals. Lebron has been to a finals and took the Celtics to the brink and this is the best team he's ever played with. I don't think he'll be denied a trip to the finals. But, if the Lakers reach their potential, beating them in a best-of-seven will be a tall order.

Aren't winning the title and being "any good" two entirely different animals?

I agree, they are pretty good. They don't however look great. They also really liked home court advantage last year. If they don't get it together really soon they will have to be crazy good to get home court.
