Fox and the BCS

Featured Replies

Is it just me or does Fox do an awful job with the BCS games? For one they do not cover college football games all year long and then they take over for the biggest games of the year with announcers who seem to have no clue of what they are doing. I thought the announcing of the championship game was just terrible. Two annoncers have no clue that Oklahoma had the ball 3rd and Goal and debating whether or not they should go for it. I think its a shame CBS, ABC/ESPN does games all year with great announcers and broadcasts then we have a pathetic effort by a station who doesn't do games all year for the biggest games of the year. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Calm down Golfer, they are going to ESPN in the next couple of years. :p

I enjoy the guys in the studio, but Fox's game coverage/commentators are horrible. I was about ready to puke with the OU play clock thing they would do. We get it, they go no huddle and snap the ball before the actual play clock hits 7 seconds. No need to show the clock every single play.

It was horrid, I yelled at the TV on numerous occasions.

I watched ESPN's pregame and then switched to Fox only because I had to. They do a terrible job with college ball, which I don't really understand, because they do a good job with pro ball.

I was glad that I was at BW3's where I really couldn't hear thim anyway.

What network had the Texas-OSU game?

My complaint with that one was that you almost couldn't hear the announcers between plays because of the Texas drum corps, or whatever you call it. At last last night you could hear the band, but it didn't take over the broadcast.

I agree. Fox is horrible with all sports. College and NFL football should only be shown on ABC networks, NBC, or CBS.

I agree on all points

All BCS games were on Fox, less the Rose Bowl (ABC)

Agree. I liked the studio guys. Game announcers were very average.

The play clock thing was pretty silly. Do they no realize that if they just put the regular play clock at the top of the screen like everyone else that we could do the math ourselves? Snap at :25...it took 15 seconds.

Agree about the play clock. Who cares?

Kind of like saying 100 degrees is 112 degrees below boiling.

I thought they were terrible but not as bad as the amateurish crew that did the Texas-OSU game.
