Not really. The irony is, that 1 year ago, I was terrified of losing my job. But recently our business has actually picked up and with one of my colleagues moving on, I've become indispensable to my employer. If I'm laid off, it's because our whole company died.

I'm going to say No and the explanation is simple. I'm currently in the Funeral Service business and as everyone knows, people will always be passing away. I am hopefully going to Mortuary (funeral) school in mid-March. When I graduate from there, I have a guaranteed job from the man I work for now (Walker Funeral Home in Hyden, Ky). If he decides to sell out or whatever, I can go anywhere else in the state, including the same county and most likely have a job. That's the great thing about that occupation. You are always needed somewhere.

Yes and no.

The field I'm going into is Chemical and Power plant operations. I get worried about local plants (AK Steel) closing down but I am encouraged that they are still building and adding on to existing plants locally and nationally.

It will be harder than it normally would have to get a job right out of college but I'm not opposed to working anywhere from here to California so I've got that going for me.

I'm eventually going into safety and those jobs are a dime a dozen if your willing to travel.

Yes but I feel like I've built a really solid resume and have two degrees to fall back on if I were too lose this job. There have been 10's of thousands of cuts in my field lately though. I feel like our company does a great job staying ahead but it's a tough industry right now.

As long as you make yourself employable as possible, there is never anything to worry about.

Technically, I haven't started by new job, I am not, but it is only a part-time job and I have saved up enough money that I really don't need to work while in school. I am not as liquid as I would like to be and I do not want to sell my holdings so I hope I don't lose my job, but we'll see. It is at a tax preparing firm so I pretty much will be guaranteed to be busy for the next few months.

Most of my relatives live around Hyden. I use to be a radio DJ there also. You from there?

Back to the subject. I'm going to say No because I work as a Dept manager at a grocery store and everyone has to eat.
