January 5, 200917 yr Author So should I just drink water? Ewwwwww! I hate water! lol. I haven't been to the grocery store yet but tomorrow I will and I'll be looking for some low calorie turkey and the Pepperidge Farm bread. Thanks! :thumb: Any wheat bread is usually better for you than White, calories wise, at least it's what I have always been told.
January 5, 200917 yr For those who hate water, I do too. But, honestly, many times when we think we feel hungry, we're actually thirsty. Water is essential. Although sodas, even diet sodas, contain water, things like caffeine are dehydrants. There is no alternative for water. I put lemon or lime in mine. For a treat, I like San Pelligrino. Of course, it's carbonated, and many people hate the taste, but I love it. I have found an acceptable alternative in the Kroger Brand Sparkling Water.

But you have to make sure the first ingredient is whole wheat. Calorie-wise, wheat wasn't always the lesser when I was looking at different brands. You just have to check when you go to the store.
January 5, 200917 yr Does any one know how many calories a cup of coffee has? I confused on how to calculate it b/c I drink one coffee mug of coffee. But when brewing it...its 3 cups. I added the creamer which is 35 cals. Yes the coffee is caffeinated. ( Its my treat for the day), I just don't want to leave it out completely. I did the calorie intake counter for my height and weight and age and I am excited that I can actually do 1500 calories a day and lose about 1-3 pounds a week with the type of lifestyle I live. I figure if I throw exercising ( even walking in) that I can shorten that time period. It said I could reach my goal of 20lbs by May 25, 1009. Very glad to know as well that I have the support of FF. He is not doing this competition but is helping me stay on track. He knows I like to wander lol .

January 5, 200917 yr Coffee has virtually no calories if drank black. That is going to be quite the feat.... oh oops lol. 2009 that would be. :sssh: Yeah I would be good with the coffee if I didn't use creamer and tons of sugar. My almost 0 cal drink just shot up to about 80 calories. GEEZ!!!

GEEZ!!! Sorry, but I can't function unless I have at least 2 cups of coffee and I'm hooked on French Vanilla Creamer, I drink 3 sweet-n-low with it.

GEEZ!!! I've always drank mine black, so it's never been an issue for me. You could always try a sugar alternative and a low fat creamer.
January 5, 200917 yr Sorry, but I can't function unless I have at least 2 cups of coffee and I'm hooked on French Vanilla Creamer, I drink 3 sweet-n-low with it. Sounds like me. Thanks to children I have become addicted to it lol. I am going to try low fat creamer and and not pure sugar.
January 6, 200917 yr I'm on track so far. I started on Jan. 2 and I've exercised twice and stayed on the diet I'm doing. Mine usually comes off fairly quickly at first and then I get stuck. I am hoping to push through the "stuck" stage this time.
January 6, 200917 yr Is apple juice bad for you when trying to lose weight? I'm not too savvy when it comes to choosing "healthy" food and drinks. I'm going to start bringing my own lunch to work. What should I bring? Not a fan of fruits and vegetables so help me out. Turkey sandwich maybe? What brand of turkey? What type of bread? I don't put any condiments on my sandwiches so I'll be good in that category. Go with a whole grain bread that has a high fiber content. Foods with more fiber, keep you fuller longer, as it is slow to digest. Plus, the extra fiber has added benefits, of course, that I'd rather not mention on here.

Today I ate at Subway and they have a new high fiber wheat bread available now, with Turkey is only 295 calories w/o cheese. Very full-filling!

January 7, 200917 yr I am proud of myself. I have eaten very good the past 2 days, and I have only had one pop. That's good for me. Hubby is helping me and always reminding me what I need to be doing. I am excited. The exercising is coming into play soon.
