That's the only one I know of. If they win their first game in Myrtle Beach, they should have a nice battle with M.L. King HS - which is traditionally a powerhouse.

Would love to see EC play. It looks like they will not be challenged in the great majority of their games this year. That may hurt them at Rupp when they get into a series of close contests.

What's the closest that EC gets to NKY this year. I'd love to see them before the sweet 16

 

They don't play anywhere near NKY, as close as they get is either E. or W. Carter.

 

Someone asked if this win would help their ranking, im not sure, they are a top 4/5 team, Holmes and Station will be 1/2 IMO, then EC or Scott co. Don't think being at least in the top 5 that anyone would complain.

 

They are and have been a VERY fun team to watch.

That would be one of my concerns for them as well. I am sure they have probably tried to get as tough of schedule as possible. I don't care how good a team is, when you get in a tournament like the State Tourney imo you are going to get challenged at some point and usuaslly more than once.

I will say that with the way this Elliot team is breezing through they may not have many close games before then.

 

I love to see the small schools do well. Elliot fans, I hope that you can sit back and enjoy this ride and not get wrapped up in "who said what?" and "why?", what someone may write in an article and all of that kind of stuff. These Elliot Co. kids are something special that probably will not come around again. Enjoy your team and good luck. :thumb:

Very good thought and advice Rambler. It has been great. There are those who will never accept that a school not located in Northern Kentucky, Louisville, or the Lexington area could possibly compete with schools that are located in those areas. Elliott's players have more than competed with those players over the years on the AAU circuit, but I realize that doesn't matter to the bashers either. We will just have to wait until tournament time, I guess to settle a lot of doubter's issues.

 

Elliott put on a show after the lead was cut to two points early in the 3rd quarter. Ferguson was on fire from deep and many of the shots were heavily contested. Ethan Faulkner handled the pressure SC tried to apply and hit a ton of free throws down the stretch. Timmy Knipp continues to improve and impress. He is certainly one of the top sophs in the state.

 

I look forward to seeing how they fare in the BBC, but I understand that even if they win the whole tournament and then beat Duke in a scrimmage, they still would have to prove themselves by beating some instate competition from our urban areas.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Sad to say but until Elliot cuts down the nets at Rupp, and they are more than capable IMO, they will be the Rodney Dangerfield of Kentucky Basketball.
