I'd love nothing more than to see the small school cut down some nets. Not saying it will happen but if my team can't do it (and there is absolutely no way my team can this year:lol:), Elliot is my second choice.

 

It still blows my mind that this team has so many people who want to see them fail. I don't know how someone couldn't enjoy a team like this. Maybe I'm missing out on something.

I love to watch Elliott Co play. IMO they have the best guards in the state( Faulkners) and the best 3 point shooter in the state(Ferguson) and a very good sophomore in T.Knipp. I'm not from Elliott Co but have always followed this group of boys and watch them when ever I can. They're my second favorite team in the state.

Very good thought and advice Rambler. It has been great. There are those who will never accept that a school not located in Northern Kentucky, Louisville, or the Lexington area could possibly compete with schools that are located in those areas. Elliott's players have more than competed with those players over the years on the AAU circuit, but I realize that doesn't matter to the bashers either. We will just have to wait until tournament time, I guess to settle a lot of doubter's issues.

 

Elliott put on a show after the lead was cut to two points early in the 3rd quarter. Ferguson was on fire from deep and many of the shots were heavily contested. Ethan Faulkner handled the pressure SC tried to apply and hit a ton of free throws down the stretch. Timmy Knipp continues to improve and impress. He is certainly one of the top sophs in the state.

 

I look forward to seeing how they fare in the BBC, but I understand that even if they win the whole tournament and then beat Duke in a scrimmage, they still would have to prove themselves by beating some instate competition from our urban areas.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

And if I'm not mistaken there's a player from Covington shooting 84% on the year from behind the arc...........:sssh:

For the sake of those whom this concerns: Ferg came out of the game never to return with 3:56 left in the game. Starters one by one starting coming out at that point. All starters were out of the game with 2 minutes left. If one was concerned with Ferg leading the state in scoring and also trying to run up the score to a 30 point margin conventional wisdom says let him & the team play the rest of the game and Ferg hits two more bombs (10 treys) and hits the 40 point mark. With 3:56 left the game was over whether Elliott wins by 25 or 10.

 

This was high octane basketball at its best. To those out there in the future. If you're going to beat them (and yes anybody can and will be beat) then you must slow the train down. Good luck, because right now it seems like a runaway train with no brakes and on a collision course with destiny.

My opinion too--About a year ago my opinion would have been the opposite and the same as many of you on here. I wouldn't drive from Garrard County to Paris (50 miles) much less a 127 miles (Sandy Hook) to see this bunch of 16th region gunners play who probably don't play anybody and are way overrated. But little by little I got hooked by the Hook. Didn't know one single person in Elliott County and probably didn't at that point care to know anyone in Elliott County. My how things have changed in a short amount of time. Now not only going to drive 50 miles to see them play but 550 miles come next week!!!! Come on some of you guys convert over and be believers as the preacher would say on Sunday morning. Try it you'll like it. Never a dull moment and the adrenaline rush is better than the first hill on the Beast at King's Island. I need a weekly fix to get by now.................

You are a riot Dude!! I agree 100%. I also agree that Faulkners are best tandem in the state, and Ferguson is best shooter/scorer. They have been proving it for a while. Thats my opinion and I am sticking to it. They also might shoot 90% if they drew fourth best defending option every night and only took 3-5 shots per game. :thumb:

I've never seen this EC squad play, and I'd concede they could probably beat my Colonels this year.

What is Ferg shooting on the year from behind the arc? Like I said, there's a kid in Covington shooting 84% on the year from behind the arc who has missed just 5 shots ALL YEAR and played much tougher competition while doing it.

 

Ferg, and the Faulkner twins are good players, but come on, you can't honestly say Elliot has three of the best players in the state considering the rest of the talent out there. Time will tell my friend. Good luck the rest of the season. Hopefully we'll meet up somewhere down the road. :thumb:
