Got some pain meds in me so please excuse me if I'm slurring my speech... Sticky I have had kidney stones but Gout, you really don't want to go there, as Gout makes passing a Kidney Stone childs play. Drink plenty of water and use a strainer to catch those stone, you will be surprised how big they are! Good luck my friend....

Are they preventable??It's caused by a build-up of calcium in the kidneys. A lot of it is congenital; but there are ways to reduce the risk. I'm sure Sticky will be learning all about those real soon. :thumb:

December 21, 200817 yr MrRk has had three stones pass and just watching him when he was in so much pain was horrible. There is still one lurking in his kidney just waiting to come out when he least expects it. I truly hope it passes soon and don't be surprised if you don't even see it. MrRk passed one and you couldn't even find it because it was so little.

December 21, 200817 yr I had one recently that took a week before I passed it. I did not go to the Dr. as i knew what it was since it was the second time I had one and thought I could tough it out, which was not a wise move. Drink plenty of water and cranberry juice and try to sleep as much as possible is my advice.:eek:
