December 23, 200817 yr John Belushi as Bluto in Animal House. That goes without saying, but glad someone said it! Nobody better for that role! :thumb:
December 23, 200817 yr Denzel Washington-Glory, A Soldier's Story, Malcom X, Remember The Titans, Training Day*. * I believe he won the Academy Award for this movie. I don't think there is any role that Denzel has ever played that he didn't own. He is da man! :thumb:
December 23, 200817 yr A couple of shout-outs to the ladies... Julie Andrews - Mary Poppins Jodie Foster - Silence of the Lambs
December 23, 200817 yr Most of the cast of the TV miniseries of Stephen King's The Stand. It included a cast that fit the mold of the book almost TOO well, including: Gary Sinise as Stu Redman Rob Lowe as Nick Andros Laura San Giacomo as Nadine Cross Ozzie Davis as Judge Farris Ruby Dee as Mother Abagail Ray Walston as Glen Batement and the actors that absolutely could not have been substituted: Matt Frewer as The Trashcan Man Adam Storke as Larry Underwood and Bill Fagerbakke (Dauber from 'Coach' and the voice of Patrick Starfish) as Tom Cullen
December 24, 200817 yr Jim Carrey in Liar Liar Anthony Hopliks as Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs Humphrey Bogart as Sam Spade in The Maltese Falcon Jack Nicholson in several roles, my favorite was as McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
March 16, 201115 yr I'd have to say that although the movie wasn't all that popular, Gary Sinise as George Milton and John Malkovich as Lennie Small in the 1992 version of "Of Mice And Men" were pretty close to perfect. As much as he annoys me, I'd also suggest Robin Williams as Sean Maguire in "God Will Hunting." I'd also have to second folks thoughts on Liam Neeson as Oskar Schindler in "Schindler's List", most all of the case of the original "Godfather", Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday in "Tombstone", and Sean Penn as Sam in "I Am Sam".
March 17, 201115 yr Wizard of Oz: Judy Garland as Dorothy, orginally offered to Shirley Temple, Wizard was offered to WC Fields, Buddy Epson was Tin Man but paint made him I'll and dropped out.
March 17, 201115 yr I can't imagine a better Doc Holliday than Val Kilmer. Couldn't agree more. :thumb:
March 17, 201115 yr Gregory Peck as Atticus Finch in "To Kill A Mockingbird" Incredible book & movie. Peck was perfect for Atticus. Jimmy Stewart in "It's A Wonderful Life." Gene Hackman & Dennis Hopper in "Hoosiers." Christopher Lloyd in the "Back To The Future" trilogy. Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter. Jim Carey & Jeff Daniels in "Dumb & Dumber." And last, but not least, Ian Petrella as Randy Parker...
March 17, 201115 yr Denzel was awesome in Training Day. That was easily his best performance, IMO...and one of my all-time favorite performances by any actor in any movie. I'll agree that Denzel Washington did an amazing job in that movie but IMO he should not of beat Russel Crowe for best actor that year. Keanu Reeves in The Matrix. I never really thought about this until I heard Will Smith turned down the role of Neo to play in that Wild West movie. Thank God. I do not think Will could of pulled it off as good as Reeves.
March 17, 201115 yr Harrison Ford - Indiana Jones Disagree. Tom Selleck was offered the role, and would have done a dynamite job. (he declined because he had justed accepted the role as Magnum)
March 17, 201115 yr John Belushi as Bluto in Animal House. Thank you. Gene Hackman in "Hoosiers.".:thumb: And last, but not least, Ian Petrella as Randy Parker...Can't argue with that!
