Based on what I am hearing the real question isn't if Trinity has the talent to 5-peat, because they always have talent. The real question is whether St. X can beat them or not.

 

Both teams are losing a lot. Is there ANY chance a team beside one of these two can challenge in 6A next year?

6A isn't just relegated to Louisville.

The games were not close similiar to this years frosh game in which T had the superior talent. I would not get my hopes up for next year if I were T, but then again strange things have happened before.

I think this upcoming season will be Coach Beatty's biggest challenge, personnel wise, since he has been at Trinity. There will be plenty of talent, it's just very young and inexperienced on both sides of the ball. However, Coach Beatty and his staff are up to the challenge and I bet they will have as much fun coaching this next team as any they have coached. Go ROCKS win number 20 in 09. 20/09!

I don't know how this next year's seniors got "pounded". At frosh level they lost 13-7 in a close game and they have gotten a whole lot better since then.

You can complete the list of non-Jefferson County schools that have won the top class since 1959 (3A, 4A, 6A) with the following schools:

 

Christian County ('82, '84)

Henry Clay ('81)

 

Thats it in almost 50 years.

 

Henry Clay had a good shot 2 years ago. A father of the 2 of the players of the that team said "we should have won that game (with Trinity in playoffs) but we beat ourselves". He was taking nothing away from Trinity but rather it pointed that confidence and the execution that comes with it are another hurdle for the challengers even when a school matches up talent for talent and size for size.
