Pressure to hire the right person that is going to bring GCHS football to where it needs to be, pressure to make sure our kids get the best person to lead them not only in football but in life, pressure of all the past issues of the program and not wanting to repeat or get back into all of that political mess, pressure of everyone in our county and within the state and tri-state that is watching the program to see which way we are going to go with a coach, are we really going to make a difference or is it going to be the same ol GCHS political garbage that has tainted the program currently...

Not sure there are that many watching. I agree with getting a good coach for the players is very important. Just not sure how many in the area are watching. Greenup is known for basketball in the late 80's and 90's. Baseball is now the kingpin at GC.

Until Fraley was hired as hoops coach the other hires were big mistakes for GC hoops. Hopefully they do get the best man for the job.

I think you would be suprised who is watching, I know Raceland and Russell are both watching what is going on. I would think Ashland being on the schedule every year is interested in what happens. I would also think that every on in the District is watching to see what happens. This is big talk around the county, people are longing for a winning football team to support. I hope they get it very soon.

I heard that he was asked and turned it down right away. as far as Steve Dowdy.... I can't see him leaving Ashland...just my opinion!

Do you have any idea of some of the possible candidates that have put in applications?

Brian Meenach and Bruce Hunt have thrown their hats in the candidate pool. At least those two should be on the staff IMO. I'm sure they have their dis tractors.

Well, since you threw it out there, I have secretly thought the whole time that Brian Meenach would be the next coach. I have only told a hand full of people that that is what I thought, and I wasn't going to post it, but since you posted it first, I will chime in.
