Having known Steve's extended familly basically all my life, I know that their strength will pull he and Brandon through...you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Last I heard, he was sitting up, but still on a lot of medication. I think he feels bad for the team and Brandon more than anything else. That's the kind of guy Steve is.

 

Haven't heard too much more; but I'll let the family decide on giving any further updates.

I just got back from visiting Steve again. He's doing very well and handling the situation as one would expect of a Roller. He comes from tough stock as does his wife, Tracy. Out of respect for Steve and his family (and being unsure how much info they want released) I'd prefer not to say more, other than he's doing fine and appreciates the almost constant stream of visitors ( I know Cris has visited him and I think Merrill may have also...which caused the nurses to ask Steve if he is some type of celebrity to have those type of visitors. In Steve's typical good humor, he told the nurse he's not a celebrity, rather he just owes a lot of people a bunch of money and they were just checking on him to make sure they got their money back. :lol:). He obviously is not going to let this get him down and will bounce back as good as ever.

 

I know for a fact he appreciates the concern expressed on BGP and I'd simply ask that you keep him and his family in your prayers. The prayers are working. Thank you.

Get Well Soon Mr. Roller from a Bluebird family! We're all praying for you! You are one of a kind! I know you and your family will bounce back from this setback and be even stronger and better.

I played against Steve during the entire 1980 as a reserve scrub. Tough as all get out on the field, nice as all get out off. My prayers are with you and your family. Get well soon, Steve.

From a Colonel fan: I'd like nothing more than a speedy recovery and you back to a normal day-to-day life enjoying your talented son's final year of high school football and getting to see a likely state championship in person.
