Agreed on the cheap shot. For those who know Deuce and his family, Kentucky can not be represented better by a person who demonstrates all that a student athlete should be. As the son of a teacher, he embraces the academic side and has excelled in it at St X. Many top athletes have dedicated their entire college choice based on football while Deuce has explored Stanford and Boston College and other top schools based on the academic offerings. 2 Things- Deuce lives closer to St X than 75% of the entire St X student population and it is a local call to his house. It is sickening that the amount of press he has gotten in the public private debate as the poster child. He went to an Louisville archdiocese parish, played football in the CSAA, represented New Albany in the Babe Ruth World Series, comes from a strong two-parent family background, achieves academically and is a good teammate and fine young man. Thank you Deuce for your contribution to Kentucky High School Football.

Stating that he lives in Indiana is not a sign of being hateful. Sure Rolandan Finch, Jr. went to Catholic school in Indiana and was coming to Trinity until the last possible moment. We may have turned him into a DE.

I guess he played for Floyd County Catholic. I don't believe Sacred Heart had it's own team. I don't blame him for not wanting to be educated at Jeffersonville or Providence. I do believe he'll leave Ky to start his college career.

 

IMO Tim Phillips has better seasonal and career stats achieved against tougher competition.

I would have loved to see Jordan, Tim or Deuce win this award but no one can discount the qualifications of any of the three and they are all clearly deserving.

Again, I wasn't getting on the kid for making his choice. Just simply pointing out a plain fact that the voters think it's fine to play in KY from a neighboring state and issue what many believe to be the most "prestigious" individual award to a non-resident.

And I would also offer that Duece, Timmy Phillips, Miles Simpson, and every other running back who turns heads would be quick to say that they owe a bit of all awards to a fantastic offensive line that works hard every play for them.

Congrats to Mr. Finch on a great season and we wish him well as he moves on to the next level - represent Kentucky well.

Congrats to Deuce. He plays for a Kentucky school and played against Kentucky schools except maybe a Ohio school once or twice.
