Sometimes kids get injured and can not give you more than they have. I am sure none of the Corbin Kids layed down and came out of this game due to being soft or whatever term you would choose to use Football 80. Same as the kids were too babied thread weeks ago that was removed. NCC was the better team tonight. They won fair and square. Until the Hounds can find a way to get more kids involved in the offense and more kids involved in the football program in general. The results will be the similar. Not enough kids are willing to come out if they have to go 6 days a week, 5 hours a day from June til Dec. What do you think would have been the outcome of the contest tonight if Josh Crawford, Josh Smith. Madison Johnson, Isaac Wilson and the injured players would play football? Pretty clear to me. Lighten up and see if more kids would be willing to be there in December when you need them.

Not to discredit any of the player who played by the rules, but it could have been even better with a little compromise.

The answer to your question is we still would have lost, New Cath was and would still have been the better football team. Why is it that around 50 or so kids can be there 6 days a week and 5 hours a day and others can't it is simple they in my mine are kids that want to and are football players, the kids that you mentioned above are not they are and always have been basketball players and i'm sure that they devote as much or more time to their sport as the football players do. So lets not play the card that the football coaches are to demanding and make the kids put to much time in to play football. Football is a tough sport to play anyone can shoot a basketball or hit a baseball or kick a soccer ball but it takes special kids to play the tough and physical game of football.

Newport's speed was too much. Corbin had -17 yards rushing in the second half. The difference of the game was Newport's speed and defensive effort in the second half.

Congrats to Corbin. Coach Jewell and his staff did a great job and continues to be one of the best staffs around.

It was a pleasure to watch the Redhounds this year.

NewCath was down on its numbers this year as well. You're right. It's an incredibly demanding sport physically. The workouts in the offseason are harder, the practices are mentally harder than other sports. It takes self discipline and dedication. Good season 'Hounds. 13-1 is a heckuva year.

Ten years form now people will not remember who got hurt, but will only see the record of 13-1, you are what your record says you are. With all that said 13-1 is a great great season and on what I know about Corbin football the Redhounds don't go very long with out playing in a title game or two.

GREAT WIN BREDS!!!!!!! HERE'S TO TURNING L-VILLE INTO NKY!!!!!!

WAY TO GO JOE COX!!!!!! CONGRATS!

NewCath was the better team tonight. The things that stood out in my mind that turned the tide the Breds way were:

1. Their depth on the line absolutely wore out Corbin's lineman who were going both ways.

2. Kelly made some excellent runs as Corbin did not wrap up very well.

3. Watkins getting hurt

4. Campbell not getting over a couple of carries for Corbin.

5. The field position NewCath was able to capitalize on.

6. Corbin got no breaks or lucky bounces that seem to go NewCath's way.

7. NewCath's D.

I think after a couple of Campbell runs that only gained 2 - 4 yards that Coach Farris kinda gave up on that option. That could have been a mistake with Watkins injured. It had been established that NCC has had problems with tackling this year and who better to take advantage of that? Michael Campbell. A couple passes on 1st down early might have loosened up that D some as well, other than the Leslie game I'm not sure if we ever passed on 1st down.

#74 was outmatched tonight on the OL. He is a freshman and an excellent lineman, but we probably should have tried one of the senior lineman who can play just as well.

It had nothing to do with play calling, plain and simple New Cath was the better team. It amazes me when you lose that it always the coaches fault in some form or fashion, but when you win it had nothing to with coaching.

IF YOU notice I gave credit to the coaches earlier. We lost this game to a better team. I just question if you have a back that is at best 50% why Campbell doesn't get the ball more than 4-5 times. I think our coaches do a great job.

I was hoping Corbin would make it to the dance. :( It's going to be hard for South Eastern KY teams to match up with the athletes that the Private and Northern schools have every year. It'll take a special groups of players to finally beat those schools. However, congrats to Corbin on a great year! You all went beyond expectations!!

Good game overall tonight. Maybe it was a little closer than the final score indicates but hats off to NCC. Their D was stellar. Sure injuries played a part but that was a small part. Corbin had some penalties that pushed them back and NCC made some very nice tackles for loss. IT seems like we'd move it well on first or second only to take a TFL and be put into passing situations. As NCC got the lead, they forced us to stray from our bread and butter and go with the passing game. I would say that Freeman passed more tonight than he did in half of the games this year. I credit that to the NCC staff and players. A tremendous amount of talent was on the field. It's sad it had to end for one of them. Best of luck to the Breds.

In my mine no matter who we would of had running the ball i still think we don't win this game because this game was won up front with New Cath dominating our front five, not only did #74 not have a good game but the whole offensive front was over matched.

Great job Bred's. Good luck next week!!!!!

I've already said that the better team won. But with Watkins injury why not give Campbell and Taylor a few more tries?

#74 is going to be a great player but he was beat on nearly every play tonight.

NCC was the better team last night and congrats and good luck to them next week. I want to comment on the hospitality that AD Foley and others from the Corbin community gave to me and my sons last night at the game. It was, by far, the best I have ever encountered. Thank you so much.

Congrats NCC. Hope next week's game is a good one.....for obvious reasons, I'd like to see the same outcome as last year.

Later.
