NCC beat Corbin they were tougher than the Hounds and I seen some of the Corbin kids lay down NCC toke it the Hounds. I never thought I would see some Corbin kids lay down but they did good luck to NCC go get you a title.

 

Nobody layed down. We had 2 regular starting backs crippled up, Fritts out with the knee and Watkins with a high ankle sprain, so there goes your speed in the backfield.

 

They had a great year. I don't think too many were expecting this good of a season.

You guys played the game the way it's supposed to be played, you guys came together early as a team and showed what teamwork can do. I'm proud of all you guys.

 

NCC put a meaningless TD in after Corbin went for it on 4th and about 20 inside the Corbin 20 to make the final margin 26-7. The NCC defense was better than I expected. Good win for the 'breds, but I will be pulling for the Falcon's next week.

Corbin offense was never able to get anything going, and credit the NCC rush they were in the backfield all night. The clock issues in the 4th quarter was absolutely ridiculous.

Now what is that all about , we won it is meaningless now .Whining about something like that after you win is crazy .

that is a non-issue. The clock was malfunctioning. I know the clock man well and he would not intentionally cheat on the time.

Sometimes kids get injured and can not give you more than they have. I am sure none of the Corbin Kids layed down and came out of this game due to being soft or whatever term you would choose to use Football 80. Same as the kids were too babied thread weeks ago that was removed. NCC was the better team tonight. They won fair and square. Until the Hounds can find a way to get more kids involved in the offense and more kids involved in the football program in general. The results will be the similar. Not enough kids are willing to come out if they have to go 6 days a week, 5 hours a day from June til Dec. What do you think would have been the outcome of the contest tonight if Josh Crawford, Josh Smith. Madison Johnson, Isaac Wilson and the injured players would play football? Pretty clear to me. Lighten up and see if more kids would be willing to be there in December when you need them.

Not to discredit any of the player who played by the rules, but it could have been even better with a little compromise.

4. Campbell not getting over a couple of carries for Corbin.

5. The field position NewCath was able to capitalize on.

6. Corbin got no breaks or lucky bounces that seem to go NewCath's way.

That isn't Corbin not wrapping up well. That is Kelly. He makes runs like that every game. Corbin can join the crowd on all the teams that have "let" Kelly break tackles on the way to a big run. That game breakdown is basically the NCC game plan every week except you left out the big special teams play.

Have to wonder about that. I was puzzled all night on that one. Watkins is obviously injured, probably shouldn't have played in the 2nd half (if at all), and #34 doesn't touch it in the 2nd half?

 

Overall the coaches did a great job with this bunch. They should be congratulated as well.

I did not see anyone quit in this game, although I did see several who ran out of steam in the second half. I really believe the NCC's depth played a big role in this one.

 

The Hounds had a much better season than I anticipated. Hats off to all the players and coaching staff on a job well done.:thumb:
