I once received a power rangers 12 inch tall action figure complete with his robot from my cousin. I was 20.

Nice!:thumb: Now lets hear some of your bad ones.

Years ago, my husband's former boss was the cheapest man alive. His wife left him, he was getting ready to retire, and was moving. His Christmas gifts literally, were things he couldnt sell at his garage sale.

He gave his secretary his wife's old electric curlers. He gave my husband a pair of muggs from Oldenburg Brewery, which he had clearly stolen. I wish I could remember the rest of the stuff he stuck his co-workers with, but those two always stick in my mind.

From the same person who shall remain un-named, AND the same Christmas, I recieved a fake gold ankle bracelet and a ROLL OF TOILET PAPER that was red and white and stamped "MERRY CHRISTMAS" thru the whole roll.

(yes, we're still married)

I think I told this story in a similar thread last year.

In my late grandma's defense, she had a couple of strokes in her life and really wasn't all there. Her gifts were always random but this gift in particular was just wacky. My entire family goes to my grandmas house on Christmas eve every year and we exchange gifts. My grandma had got everyone's gifts and had them wrapped and waiting. She realized that she had forgot to buy something for one of my aunts so she wrapped up a sponge and wrote my aunts name on it. She didn't wrap it in wrapping paper either, she wrapped it in paper towels. The sponge was still wet because she had used it before everyone came over

My aunt once gave her guy a depth finder for Christmas. Only problem is that he did not own a boat.

OMG...I am crying! Some of these stories are killing me.

By the way...my grandmother would do the same thing in her later years.:laugh::laugh::laugh:

My husband's step mother is known for goofy gifts. His family no longer does an adult gift exchange because of her...supposed to be a $50 gift kind of thing. The last year, the gal that she drew got USED potpourri in a sandwich bag! The dust was still on it from where she dumped it out of the bowl into the baggie...not only that, she got earrings that had "ear goop" on the backs! Yuck!

You couldn't really do anything but laugh at the situation. The look on my aunts face was priceless when she unwrapped the paper towels with her name on it and discovered a recently used sponge.

My wife's grandfather gave everyone a roll of home made pork sausage one year.

My in-laws always get me crappy gifts. Been married 10 years, and the nicest gift I have received from them is a new Rand McNally road atlas from Wal-Mart with the oil change coupons cut out. The worst gifts range from garden decorations that glow in the dark (a butterfly and a hummingbird) to a size medium shirt. I am 6'7". I can't wait to see what's next. :creepy:

Years ago my daughter wrapped up some beef jerky and put it under the tree. Now, I like beef jerky as much as the next guy, but not after the dog has gotten to it. He did leave some slobber-laden ribbon and a scrap or two of wrapping paper.

Last year my brother got me a tape of...."The Lucy Show Christmas". It is still in the wrapper. I might give it back to him.

Not unless one of you want it. :p

I can't really think of a bad gift I have received, but my mom has gotten a couple bad gifts from my dad. One year her got her 2 pairs of tennis shoes, same shoe, different colors. The best one is when he got her a garage door opener....thing is, she all ready had one on her side of the garage, so he he used it on his side.
