I miss "The Barn" in Montgomery Co. that gym had character.

 

Agreed. The teams still play one game a year in "The Barn" during the Gateway tournament around Christmas. Most freshmen games are in "The Barn". Great place to take in a game.

Went to Holmes tonight and I liked their gym, it would be nice to see it packed.

 

Unless they move the 9th region tourment, you probably won't get the opportunity. I've seen it packed for the regional, but never even close during a regular season game. Then again I've never been to a Holmes/CCH or Holmes/HC game but I still doubt those games are sell outs.

#2 Mason County Fieldhouse (when I played, the teams sat in the stage endzone, 1 on each side of the basket)

I for one liked "The Barn" at Montgomery Co.

But there were alot of History at the Mt. Sterling HS and the Old Montgomery Co. HS that eventually became Mapleton Elementary. ALot of good and exciting times there.

Also around the region Augusta is one of a kind and still one of the loudest and rocks when its packed. Literally the upper decks move when filled.

The old Southside Gym in Paris wasn't to shabby either. Especially when Bourbon would come to visit.

Loved the old Mapleton Gym and had several exciting moments on Mt. Sterling High Schools floor. Played one game that we went up and down the floor twice before the referees finally grabbed the ball. A foul had been called and no one could hear the whistle.

Raceland's new facility is imo the best in the 16th region. :thumb:

I liked playing at Richmond Model. It was a fun little gym to play in. And I couldn't help but to wonder what the atmosphere would be like if they had a pep band in there that could peel the paint off the walls. I'm not sure what region that is but it's definately my pick for that region.
