Is Campbell Field located at Corbin High School?

I think 11 on 11 Corbin matches up well with just about any team. However 4chs could be onto something with the depth thing. Fritts being in this backfield would have really made Corbin dangerous. You'd have 3 running backs capable of putting up 150 yards on any given night. Heck throw Taylor in there and you never can tell, he could too if he gets loose.

 

With all of that said, I am starting to get more and more confident as the week goes on. I'm not necessarily so sure that is a good thing on my part. Last week I would admit to being nervous but I'll admit I would have been willing to put the farm on Prestonsburg if I had to. I just had a bad feeling. Maybe the Bath County game was bad for 2A and good for Corbin afterall. The Hounds really seemed to be woke up and playing with a serious chip on their shoulder. If the kids come out there and play to their potential, don't over amp and try to do too much, they will keep on rolling.

I-75 Southbound

-Exit 29 Corbin/Barbourville exit and make a left onto 25 E

-Go to the 25W junction (first red light past Taco Bell)

-Make right at the light and you will pass up KFC on your right.

-Just before you go up a hill, you will see a red sign saying Redhound Football Stadium and have an arrow. From there you will see the lights.

It is the same Kelly and I think he is much better this year, he is the 3rd brother and Chris is the the 4th. Mark is a great runner with excelelnt vision and great balance and you said it right he doesn't like to go down. Chris is only a sophomore and plays like he is a senior he is going to be a great one by the time he is done. NCC feels that they should have won the state last year and fell to a very good Ft. Campbell team so in there minds there is unfinished business to take care of and they look very focused.

You may want to give him the night off and save him for the next game, better yet let them both sit this one out.:lol: It seems like he had one run on 4th and goal where it looked as though Corbin had held only to see him somehow keep his balance and find the endzone. He is a fun one to watch, although frustrating when you are for the other team.

 

Corbin's defense will have their hands full in this one and will have to play their best game of the year to contain the Breds.

This game is a complete toss-up. Even Vegas has this game as a pick. Both teams are very good. One of the state's best coaches will on be on the sidelines for NCC and Campbell Field is one of the most history-rich venues in the state. I can't wait.

I know nothing about this year's Corbin team. Sounds like they run, how is their passing game?

We'll pass when need be but 90% of the time we are going to pound the ball on the ground. You never know if it's going to be right up the gut, off tackle, or to the outside.

Is Kelly the same RB they had last year? Their RB last year had uncanny balance and would rarely go down on the first or second contact. Hopefully they learned a valuable lesson from him last year.

 

Yes, he is. He has improved more b/n his Jr to Sr year than any player I've had the opportunity to watch at NewCath. I've seen so-so players become good players, but I've never truly seen a good back turn into a dominant one like this. The only thing that I can like it to is the change that Eddie Eviston had b/n after his JR season when he just dominated as a Senior, but even that is off b/c Mark had a much bigger impact as a junior than Eddie did. He is a very hard runner and has found an extra gear making for a lot of long runs.

Corbin feels the same way, both teams didn't get it done. Hopefully NewCath brings the intensity this week to put together a full four quarters. If they do, they will be very tough to beat.

What is the difference the the NewCath defense this year compared to last?

 

I know you guys say they don't play pass d as well. But they have allowed 1865 rushing yards this year - 143 p/g compared to 115 p/g last year. Also allowing 18 points p/g this year compared to 10 points p/g last year.
