28-14 Corbin

When did passing to a tightend become trickery? Smart coaches make use of the tightend each and every game at least once a quarter. I can not see why two kids with as good of hands as French and Manns have not seen any love thus far, but it is hard to argue with the results. How many touches have these two got all season? Seems far fetched to throw them the pigskin now when the stakes are so high. Both are well schooled in the art of blocking by now, so why change a good thing.

I think after watching several Corbin games this season a pass to the tightend would be classified as trickery....lol

 

The only ones I can recall have been in games where the margin of victory were established early on. Of course, I would love to see them get a chance, but this late in the game it is a gamble at best IMO.

Corbin has some speed.

I'm curious, after watching some game film on the Hounds, (not to be negative) do they have much speed? Because it looks as if they are mostly size.

 

They have good quickness, but not an abundance of speed, although Watkins could be the fastest guy on the field Friday.

What was it? About a 4.3 40, if I remember. Ask LCA how fast he is. He had 2 TD runs over 90 yards and was pulling away easily.

Watkins ran a 4.47 at the UK Camp which is done electronically. That'd translate to 4.3 if we were going by a high school coach timing his player. Here are two videos that I saw linked before. One is of Watkins and one is of Campbell.

Kues for NCC is quite fast, I am not sure what his 40 is though.

Ferrara an Parr both have speed for Newcath not sure about there 40 time but I'd say it's around 4.4ish.

I wasn't there but I know that's what UK uses for their pro days. I imagine it's what they use at camps. I know Joker has talked about using them at camps in the past. Id say that's what they used last summer.

Parr is fast, but not 4.4. I'm guessing 4.6-4.7. Ferrara is a 4.6. Collinsworth from Highlands was clocked at a 4.67ish, and I don't believe that Parr is faster than him. Overall on offense, though, NewCath has a lot of speed when you include the Kellys and Kues. Escalante is pretty fast himself.

I respectfully disagree, Ferrara is on the track team and came in like 2nd at state in the 200 and 400. He is most likely in the top fastest kids in Ky, I think Ferrara runs a little bit better than a 4.6 ..On the other hand Parr is pretty quick but I agree with you on him not being a 4.4 ..I'd have to say their fastest kids on NewCath would be Ferrara, Rawe, Parr, Grosser, Kues, and even Jake Smith when he wants to be.

With the rain we got last night and the rain/sleet/snow today, it will be interesting to see how the field holds up. Speed might not factor in.....much. I think I said earlier that the dead bermuda doesn't drink any of the water it gets. It is thick and should hold up fairly well. The practice field has been so bad that we haven't stepped a foot on it all week.
