I believe Frank caught a TD pass in the National Championship game as a Jr. He switched to baseball in his senior year a Notre Dame. I still see him around town. He is still huge. I think he is a dealer at one of the casinos in Lawrenceburg, Ind.

This is going to be a heck of a game. NCC is hard hitting with speed and experience. The thing that would worry me if I were an NCC fan is the defense. For some reason they give up more points than I would expect and they seem to have collapsed at times in some games. NCC will score their points, no doubt. If Corbin is going to win, they will need to put 4 TDs or more on the board. Can the Redhounds do that against NCC?

 

As I have stated before, if Corbin is up late in the game, they give themselves a chance. NCC is the best (ok, maybe one of the best) closers in the state. They put points on the board in the 4th quarter, and can do it very quickly. They wear down defenses during the game, and take advantage during the final stages of the game. Their D seems to get better as the game goes because of the adjustments they tend to make.

Thanks mexitucky. I knew Frank was a solid football player, but overstated. I guess it was injury that kep him from being #1? Didn't Brown graduate before Frank, but Frank got injured?

 

No, Brown was, I believe a class behind Frank. He got injured against Air Force and moved onto crushing home runs.

Coach Farris and Coach Jewell will have a few tricks up thier sleeve. I say Corbin gets 14 points on two different "trick" plays and pulls out the win. A reverse on the kick-off, or a fake punt very well could make the difference.

I'm curious, after watching some game film on the Hounds, (not to be negative) do they have much speed? Because it looks as if they are mostly size.

If they hounds don't have speed, a trick play will not be enough to beat the Breds.

I agree, I'm just curious because I saw that they have a good size on the team, but not much speed at all. It looks as if NewCath mite be a little out sized in some areas, but NewCath definatly will have more speed.

Corbin has some speed.

I have been following along but not wanting to comment on a game on the other side of the bracket, but now must break in. There is a Monroe County fan on the Fort Campbell vs. Monroe County thread that claims his team is the hungriest team in 2A. Basically, the 'Breds, Hounds and FC Falcons just don't want it as bad. I defended both NCC and Corbin, but you guys may have some comments you would like to add. I hope you all have a great game and we hope to see one of your teams at Papa John's.

Sewell, Taylor and Watkins have speed! Better take a good angle on those boys or they can make you look silly. I really like the combo of speed and power that Corbin can throw at you.

 

I agree with earlier post in the fact that this group of Redhounds is all about teamwork. On any given night they can throw a variety of options at you and all those options present different problems for the opposing team.

 

I still feel that a couple of trick plays, and some passes to the two big tights ends, French and/or Manns, will lead to a Redhound victory.

When did passing to a tightend become trickery? Smart coaches make use of the tightend each and every game at least once a quarter. I can not see why two kids with as good of hands as French and Manns have not seen any love thus far, but it is hard to argue with the results. How many touches have these two got all season? Seems far fetched to throw them the pigskin now when the stakes are so high. Both are well schooled in the art of blocking by now, so why change a good thing.
