Im proud of Rams. Before the season I didnt think they would have close to this kind season. A special group of players. Hate to see the loss, but after the first game between these 2, I was afraid LCA would go to the air and hurt us. When they decided that running wasn't going to work, they aired it out. Raceland couldnt keep the Eagles in front of them. But a great season nontheless. Go Rams.

Future Hall of Famer Dermonti Dawson was at the game tonight. Spindoc was like a little kid waiting to see Santa Claus. :lol:

To Raceland, congratulations also on a GREAT season and post season. I was hoping to see you guys playing in Louisville in a couple of weeks. I am totally impressed with your program and your fans. First class, and I hope to see continued success from you in the future.

 

 

Easy to say on a message board well after the fact, but LRCW can vouch for me, I also said beforehand that if you can't get 6 inches for a first down you don't deserve to win.

 

I would say if you are counting on LRCW to protect your reputation, then you need better friends and witnesses. :lol:

It is a heartbreaking loss for the Rams and all of their fans. But you had a very special season that you should be proud of. It's been fun keeping up with you even from a distance. I’m sure this team will be remembered for a long time. I also want the wish the seniors well as they prepare to leave high school now.

Wow, what a game! Congratulations, Eagles! You dug down deep when the outlook was grim, and put it into another gear. Great job: players AND coaches. You made outstanding adjustments during the game. (more later)

 

Raceland, I salute you. You have great players and coaches. As I said before the season started, YOU were the 1A team that I was most worried about this year, and you showed us why: you're skilled, you're strong, you're balanced and you're tough.

 

At the end of the game, Dermontti Dawson (all-pro Steeler lineman) commented about how impressed he was by you guys.

 

Good job to all, nothing was left on the field, by either team.

I am still a little shell shocked. It is kind of like a death in the family. Those senior boys are like my family, so when the "senior moments" came in the locker room after the game, it was like my boys hurting and sad. It is still very hard to think they will not be coming over to the house this Thursday. I just want all Ram fans to know how good these kids are, not just as football players, but as young men. I know that they will all accomplish great things if they keep the same work ethic that they put into their high school football careers. I love these guys and am very proud of them and the entire team and coaching staff.

Congrats to the RAMS you made the WHOLE area proud of you, with that said I was disappointed that with the wonderful coaching staff Raceland has they couldn't find better personell in the defensive backfield at corner

Now, to comment on the Ram fans: there are none better.

 

For years, my friend (and LCA stat-guy) has told me that Raceland provides the best venue and atmosphere for high school football that he has ever seen. I generally tend to discount such hyperbole, but decided to make the trip myself.

 

EagleEye is right. The place was jammed and rocking! People from all around the Raceland area braved the cold weather and showed up to support their community. The Ram-pride was electric.

 

The concession stand lived up to it's billing: wonderful food and super people manning it.

 

While there I met several BGP members: Ram, LRCW, Spindoc and even retired Francis Bavier! I also met Ram's wife: not a BGP poster, just Ram's wife! I'm sorry I missed mcpapa (and all the little papa's), cville, and all the other EKy Ram members. And oldrambler, I hope to come next time when when you will be available! :thumb:

 

I know that if you keep supporting your team, Kentucky will continue to see you in the post-season.
