Were both of the games played @ Raceland this year. And if so was the officiating any better the second game?

Both game were at Raceland. The officiating was good in both games, there was only one, what turned out to be a bad call, in the first game. Both crews did a great job.

Well, the funeral like atmosphere remains in Ram land today. I have spoken to a couple of players that continue to replay the game in their head and wonder what went wrong. I have tried to console and also lift spirits, but this is a tough life lesson to learn. The coaches told them Friday night that as tough as it may be, life goes on and they will get past this. I still feel like I am in a fog, but I will attend the basketball game Tuesday night and support them and that may be the best medicine to heal these sad wounds.

:thumb: Absolutely! As for the rankings that some may have mentioned, discussed or comlained about I will just say that imo Beechwood should be ranked #1 untill someone beats them (besides a #2 ranked AA team). JMO

If the worse thing that happens to those kids in life is that they lost a football game in the play-offs then they would have a mighty good life! :thumb: I know it's tough sometimes, as a kid, to have that perspective but it's the truth. They played their rear ends off and have nothing to hang their heads about.

I agree completely. The main thing for these boys is that they speak of youth as the JFL days. In reality, their youth is now and they just are too young and in the moment to realize it. I am 40 and I still feel like I could put the pads on and play. As a matter of fact 1985 doesn't seem that long ago, but it was.:thumb:

A few years down the road as they sit around and remember the glory days , as my sons and freinds do, they will remember this loss less and their accomplishments more. Any 10-0 season is absolutely great. but add a district title, EKC title,Wins over Ashland and Russell. That will be what is remembered the most.

They'll be back for the 10 year reunion of this season and wonder what happened to those 10 years!!!!!!

HA HA..I hope that you have included Your team in the bunch, Is that Hazard. Because IT wont be any different form last time.

 

I think Hazard is going to give them a tougher game then you expect. Last time they met Hazard was not playing very well. I think the game could go either way this Friday night.

The little problems we are having, are being worked on, it may take some time, but they are being worked out, be patient.

Still in shock, but very proud of the Rams. You couldn't ask for a finer group of Seniors (& kids). Thought we had them, but to their credit, LCA stepped it up a notch & made big plays when they had to.

 

It hurts now, but when this group looks back on their accomplishments, they will realize how special they really are. One day the Rams will eventually win that elusive regional title & get to the carpet.

 

 

Also, a special thanks to all of our touchdown club members; you're the greatest, & to our great fans who showed such awesome support all year long. Truly appreciative of all of your help & support. Also thanks to all of our area fans & coaches from other schools who came out & supported us last night.

 

You are right the Rams eventually will win that elusive title once they hire a coach that doesn't play conservative football. I know this going to tick some of you off, but I can't keep quiet any longer. Raceland went up 20-3, and instead of continuing at that pace, he throttled back. I hate it for these kids, the LCA team didn't beat the Rams because of their athletic superiority, it was because the coach couldn't make the right calls or refused to make the right calls when the game was on the line (You have to go for it on 4th and inches when the games in on the line), the same thing that happened against NCC a few years back.

 

On a second note, Mr. Farley should be ashamed of the way he calls the games, I don't think there is another announcer in the area who calls a game as rudely as he does at times. It tarnishes our image. If he wants to act like that, maybe he should get a job in radio.:madman:

You're right Ram-T Cat Fan77, it ticked me off. First, Coach Vanderhoof and his staff guided Raceland to 12 wins this season, I don't think there are many coaching staffs in the state that can say that, no matter what there strength of schedule was. The Raceland coaching staff is very good, and we are lucky to have each and everyone of them. There is no other group of men that I would rather have coaching my son, when the time comes, in fact, I hope they are all still there when my son is playing varsity football.

 

Secondly, Bill Farley is a good man, and does a great job of handling his duties. He is not the same old monotone PA announcer, he adds some emotion to his job. He said nothing inappropriate at any time. He is the "Raceland PA Announcer", so he shows some excitement when Racaland has a big play, and I think he adds to the atmosphere. I have heard many opposing fans say that they enjoyed his version of PA announcing. I have even had fans say they wished they had a PA announcer like him. He does a great job, not just as the PA announcer, but as the athletic director. All the opponents coaches, radio crews, administrators, and support personnel are treated like they are at their home field while in the and around the press box. Ask them and find out.

 

Thirdly, I am unhappy that a supposed Raceland fan would come on here and make such comments. If you have a problem with Coach Vanderhoof or Mr. Farley, then you should first go and speak to them personally. And, if you don't get satisfaction from those conversations, then go and speak to Mr. Melvin, I know he would me more then happy to speak to anyone who asks. I have all of these people's phone numbers if you wish to do that instead if just throwing out accusations that I don't think you have a complete understanding of.

Ram-T Cat fan77, the only thing you said correctly is that you are ticking off Ram fans. If you have an issue with the play calling, call the coaches. As Ram said, I have their numbers, too, and will supply them to you if you are wanting answers. Ram football is a family and you don't take private "beefs" public. Haven't you ever been told to not air dirty laundry? Lastly, I am sure Mr. Farley would be happy to discuss how to better include your input, I have his number, too.:thumb:

I don't feel the need to defend myself, because anytime someone mentions anything negative on here, that person is accused of making accusations. If you can honestly sit there and tell me there was no change in the pace of the Rams offense during the game, then in my opinion you didn't watch the same game. This team went 12-0 sticking to a bruising running game, why change things so drastcally in the second half, thus giving LCA the opening they needed to get back in the game. LCA didn't win the game because of superior athletes they won it because their coach stuck to his game through four quarters of play and Raceland didn't. I don't care who I offend, this is an open forum and sometimes the truth (being my so-called "accusatons") hurts. If you don't like what I am saying then take my membership away and give my ten bucks back!!!!:mad:

Like I said, the truth hurts. I pay my five bucks at every game and I've paid my dues on here and the last time I checked this is the USA and freedom of speech is one of my rights as a citizen. I'm so sorry I came in and upset your little eutopia!!
