Like I said, the truth hurts. I pay my five bucks at every game and I've paid my dues on here and the last time I checked this is the USA and freedom of speech is one of my rights as a citizen. I'm so sorry I came in and upset your little eutopia!!

Like I said.......show a little respect to the coaches and workers around the program. Are you a retired coach that has ran an offense? Maybe there was a reason that the game plan was altered. I don't know and neither do you. What benefit do you get by coming on here and using your free speech and your American citizenship to bash the coaches and AD? I don't agree with everything that goes on here or at any school for that matter, but people sacrifice time and energy and time away from their families to coach these young men and they played their hearts out. Now, almost a week after the fact you want to blow off steam? I am not sure why you feel the need to show your displeasure in such a manner. Now, you asked several questions in your rant to start this and we are offering you to call us personally for the coaches and the AD's numbers and you can get the answers. I honestly do not see why you have to publicly ask these particular questions knowing full well that noone on this site has the answers. If you truly want the answers, ask the people that know face to face and not behind a screen name on BGP's.

First of all, I don't like seeing or hearing the negativity but I do agree that a poster has a right to say what they want. As for the coaching/staff I believe that we all have questioned coaching decisions/play calls or whatever not matter what the game. I know that I have and even sitting at home watching college football on t.v. I will do the same about some of the college coaches, who have obviously forgot more about football and coaching than I will ever know.

 

My point is that untill we are in that situation, see the kids in practice every day, have looked at film of our opponets and our own teams over and over then it is really imo not my place to question them or their decisions. .

 

Now, have I questioned some things? Yes and I probably will in the future, I think that every fan does at times. That does not mean that I don't support the coaches at all, it is just human nature.

I also believe that there is no one that feels any worse about the loss than our Ram players and Coaches. No Coach goes out and calls a game wanting to lose. I am a Raceland fan, always have been and always will be no matter what the situation is. I am dissapointed and mad as anyone over that game bc I hate to lose. I am extremely competitive and don't care if it is "tiddly winks" ...I want to win!

 

I personally will not go to bashing any coaches. I support our coaches 100%. Should others want to, that is their opinion and right to do so. As for me, I don't agree with coming on a "high school" thread and bash a teams coaches or program mainly bc I don't think that the players need to be reading stuff like that. This is all about the kids and I personally will come on here to promote them. Bashing a coach is imo bashing a team (these kids/players do read these threads;)) and should anyone have problems with a coach the personally I believe that should be between them and the coach.

That is JMO and to each their own, I just disagree.

 

As for the PA man at Raceland, about the only complaint that I have had at times and have heard from others is the volume, it can get pretty loud. Other than that, this is a "Raceland" PA man at "Raceland's" home field. I would expect any home pa announcer to stress the home team. I have never heard him or anyone say that he has disrespected an opposing team in any way. (there was one claim but no one else could back it up, that was another thread though).

 

After a big loss that hurts like this one did it is common for people to start complaining about this or that. I do the same out of frustration. The bottom line was that on last Friday night LCA beat my Raceland Rams. Do I think that Raceland had the better team? Yes I do BUT in the words of Lou Holtz...........a team doesn't have to be the best all season, they just have to be the best for around 3 hours on a paticular night. L.C.A. was the better team on Friday night and they deserved the win. No excuses.

 

Finally, that is all that I have to say about that and I am already looking foward to Raceland Ram Football 2009! "Once a Ram, Always a Ram" and "Every day is a Great Day to be A Ram"!!

As to the PA announcer, the one poster is exactly right - if you have a complaint about someone or something, be man enough to discuss it in person before you air it publicly. You might find out a good reason why things are done a certain way before you call someone out.

All I would like to do here is clarify something (as I see it).

 

Whether Ram-T should or shouldn't have posted what he did (or phrased it that way); that's for you guys to hammer out.

 

I would like, however, to address one suggestion that several posters have made: that Ram-T should contact the coaches directly.

 

It has been my experience that no coach is going to talk/listen to a fan about play-calling. It just doesn't happen (or if it does, only rarely). I can see that from a coach's point of view, it's a "losing proposition" to get into a discussion with fans (whether they are right or not).

 

I know this will come as a shock to some, but even I, Bluto, have been known to question a coach's decisions. As oldrambler pointed out, it's human nature. But calling/contacting a coach about strategy & tactics is just not a realistic option.

I don't feel the need to defend myself, because anytime someone mentions anything negative on here, that person is accused of making accusations. If you can honestly sit there and tell me there was no change in the pace of the Rams offense during the game, then in my opinion you didn't watch the same game. This team went 12-0 sticking to a bruising running game, why change things so drastcally in the second half, thus giving LCA the opening they needed to get back in the game. LCA didn't win the game because of superior athletes they won it because their coach stuck to his game through four quarters of play and Raceland didn't. I don't care who I offend, this is an open forum and sometimes the truth (being my so-called "accusatons") hurts. If you don't like what I am saying then take my membership away and give my ten bucks back!!!!:mad:

 

While I wont argue one way or the other with what Racelands offence did or did not do....you are TOTALLY wrong on what LCA did. LCA DID NOT stick to their gameplan for 4 quarters. They completely changed it at halftime but more over after being down 20-3. After getting down 20-3 LCA started going with a much more vertical passing game as opposed to feeding Hayden and throwing screens.

I have't bashed anyone on a personal basis, I simply questioned the play calling during the second half of the game. I know it hurts a player to lose a game like, you wanna know how and why I know this? I played for Raceland in the 90's under coach Ross. I lived through some horrible playoff games against Northern KY teams, a couple that couldnhave been won and it hurts me on a personal level to see these kids give their all to win a game and come so close and then lose it when the final outcome of the game rests in the hands of the coach. That's all. All this crap about calling this person and that person and offering suggestions is totally unrealistic. Hindsight is 20/20, I said some things that I shouldn't have, but I stand behind them 100% and I'm sure there are others out there, probably even on this sight that feel:madman: the same way I do.

Stick to discussing last week's game. Final warning.

Let me ask you something Ram-T Cat, why is it that after 12 wins and one loss, you show up and all of a sudden have this Epiphany? Where were you for the past 13 weeks in the prediction threads? Where were you for the past 13 weeks in the final game threads? I guess maybe you were on board when Raceland was winning for 12 weeks, but when they lose one, hard fought game, you jump ship.

 

As for you opinions, perhaps you should think about this whole situation. This is the World Wide Web, everyone on the earth can read this. What kind of conclusion do you think they would come to about Raceland, it's fans, it's team, it's coaches? All I have to say is thank you for tarnishing a very good reputation that Raceland has developed on BGP. The Raceland fans have worked very hard, and as a unit, to display Raceland in best light possible. And, you come on here with total disregard for the players, the coaches, the fans, and the community and tear down in seconds what people have spent much time building.
