Does a Win against UNC make up for the bad VMI Loss?

Featured Replies

It does times 10. So what if Hansborough is out? He has always played his worst games against Kentucky anyway, I see no reason why this season would be any different. Besides that you have Tyler Zeller coming in instead so its basically like subbing one AA for another.

If Kentucky wins this game, then the VMI loss goes down as a fluke loss. If Kentucky gets beat by 20+ then everyone will start to question what kind of team Kentucky really has.

YES.

No.

A win against UNC would be great and would give the players and fans some much needed confidence. However, beating UNC without a few of their stars would not make up to a TERRIBLE loss at home against a team like VMI.

Beat UNC, UL, and Miami and I'll be willing to call the VMI game a fluke.

I disagree with the last line....If they beat UNC, KState, WVU, and Miami(FL), they can still lose to UofL and erase the ill effects of the VMI game IMO.

You're probably right. I just don't want to lose to UL 2 years in a row

It may or may not make up for the VMI loss (in my opinion I think it does) but if UK wins, all you will hear from everybody is "Oh but Hansborough was out" and yada yada yada.

Not with Hansborough out!!

I really don't think the CATS will win, but if it was to happen, this will be the excuse.

May be a bad night in the Tater house. Both my sons are TarHeel fans so I am outnumbered!!!

Either way GO CATS!!!!!

Wow, what a terrible parent!

They must be rebellious teenagers, right?!:D

1-1 looks a whole lot better than 0-2...

Yes, but if VMI turns out to be a better team than most then it wouldn't hurt UK that much having lost to them.

Sorry. :D

Beating the No. 1 team will help, but that loss to VMI is still there.

Are you all kidding me? The loss is over, let it go. If these players are doing what you all are doing on here then were doomed. UNC lost to Santa Clara the first game of the season a couple years ago and made it to the Final Four. Move on, and focus on the Tar Heels. The VMI game will not keep us from making or not making the tournament. Next topic please!
