November 18, 200817 yr Nope, the fact that all the supposed Christians on here seem to try to jam their religious beliefs down everyone's throats by using a Scripture verse here, a Scripture verse there....It just gets old....Personally, I find a lot of these debates to be excellent- it is people expressing their views, hearing different perspectives, and reevaluating and strengthening their own. That being said, some of these debates get out of hand, but the ones that stay civil are great IMO.

It seems to me that many on here try to impress their views on the "uninformed", and project an "I'm holier than you" attitude.
November 18, 200817 yr Author Nope, the fact that all the supposed Christians on here seem to try to jam their religious beliefs down everyone's throats by using a Scripture verse here, a Scripture verse there....It just gets old.... I agree with you, but I think this one is prety good. The person that started this thread is a GENIUS!

November 18, 200817 yr lbbc nailed it. Drinking isn't a sin, drunkeness is. Same goes for food. Eating isn't a sin. Gluttony is. Totally :thumb:
November 18, 200817 yr For people who don't like for us to use Bible scripture/stories This post was in the religion thread I believe, religion/scripture see something there? Do what I do if I think there is something I might not want to read, I skip it. Yes, I responded because I use scripture and Bible facts on here. Y'all might have a gripe if we use scripture in the other forums, but oh well. Proverbs 24:17. And, I could use a lot more but feel like its a thread where we can share a little on beliefs and think so's, and its not a Bible Study.
November 18, 200817 yr Being raised in a southern baptist background I was taught that drinking in itself was not a sin, but that drunkenness was. I was also taught that if my actions caused someone else to sin - my actions were sinful as well. So if someone else saw me drinking and said to themselves that if it's ok for me to drink it's ok for them to drink. That person gets drunk - I'm partially responsible for their sin. I think it was my dad's messed up psychology to make me feel bad about drinking. I felt bad a lot - then I got over it.
