Fulmer out at Tennessee....

Featured Replies

I've been trying to come up with possible replacements and outside of Kelly, I can't think of many "already" head coaches that would fit at Tennessee. Skip Holtz came to mind, but I'm not so sure. Todd Graham at Tulsa, but could he recruit the south?

This might be a job for an up-and-coming assistant. Will Muschamp/Texas? Kevin Wilson/Oklahoma? Willie Martinez/Georgia? Brent Venables/Oklahoma? Just some ideas.

I think Muschamp will get a long look. Cutcliff one and done at Duke???

Having such a good year by Duke's standards, along with being quite the beloved figure in Knoxville won't hurt Cutcliffe.

RIDICULOUS!! The man is 150-51 as a head coach. The what have you done for me lately crowd wins again. Plus big boosters putting up money for a buy-out that will be huge.

Hate to hear, hope it is just false rumors. Always liked Fulmer.

Way to much talent on the Tennessee sideline to be 3-6 , he should be fired!!!

:thumb: I agree.

I realize it's probably a longer shot than Rich Brooks taking the job, but what about an assistant like Major Applewhite from Texas?

Muschamp from Texas will be a name thrown around a lot...

A bowl bid may be on the line for UT in that game.

That is a switch. We're usually the ones looking for #6 against them!

I'll bet they are going crazy in Rocky Top!

Remember all the grief we got for wanting Tubby gone for some of the same reasons? Where is all that talk going to show up at?

I agree with Muschamp. I don't see Cutcilffe being at the top of the list due to age. If a couple of people turn them down though, he'd be a safe pick.

I knew this would happen but I didnt know when.

I would love to see Boise State's coach perform in a BCS program. I have always wondered if he could pull off the same job that Urban Meyer did.

I would agree with what you are saying if this year was the only one...but they have been mediocre during this decade. Add that to the fact that there have been numerous run-ins with the law and a total lack of discipline on the field and I think it was time.

I thought he went to Colorado.

Older coaches that could recruit and WIN...

Butch Davis, N. Carolina

David Cutcliffe, Duke

Steve Spurrier, S. Carolina

Younger coaches that would bring energy to a program...

Mike Stoops, Arizona

Chris Peterson, Boise St.

Mike Leach, Tex. Tech

Brian Kelly, Cincy

Bronco Mendenhall, BYU
