Central played St. X this week.

 

Thats just what I was thinking.

I don't see this one being close as it was last year. Central hasn't met a team that compares to Highlands this year. I say we see a similar result to the Madison Central game. Central keeps it close for a half with Highlands pulling away and putting up a bunch of points in the second half.

I just can't believe that Central "hasn't met a team that compares to Highlands this year." By nearly all accounts Louisville Saint Xavier is better than Highlands (and maybe by a fairly significant margin, given what Saint X has done to Trinity and the rest of their competition this year).

 

Both teams have faced better teams than what they will see this week (Highlands has played Cincy Colerain and Central has played Saint Xavier).

 

Highlands better work hard this week and come out firing Friday night, or it's going to be a disappointing end to the regular season for HHS.

I think he probably just didn't know that Central had played St. X.

 

I think this will be a tough battle and a closer game than we've seen since Colerain. Of course, I thought the last game was going to be a close one too. But one thing is certain; if the Birds get complacent, and in the mindset that they can roll over anybody, it will be their downfall. But knowing the coaching staff as I do, that possibility really doesn't concern me too much.

First of all, let's be clear that noone claimed Highlands was better than St. X. And secondly, Male did not "thump" Highlands in that scrimmage, by any stretch of the imagination.

And a TD fumbled at the pylon for a touchback. A pretty close call that could of went either way. Sooooo, since we were in Louisville we know which way it went.

It should be a great football game. 2007 Class (AAA) and Class (AAAA) State Champs. There's going to be a lot of speed and talent on the field friday night. IMO the Bluebirds Defense is to deep and strong for any team in the state. H-33 LC-10

Sorry guys, I forgot that Central played X this past week.

Birds in a competitive game 22-0. The defense has been outstanding!

They've held five of their nine opponents to less than a touchdown. They've given up 107 points. But at least forty or so of those were scored on the subs -- maybe more. Thirty-three of the points went to Colerain alone.

guess what I'm saying is Central beat Male, held them to about 150 yards total offense. They did'nt capitalize again'st the number 23 team in the nation, also out rushed and out gained them in total yards, but Central is by far not as good as Highlands. By the way Central runs an offense very close to Colerain's. This just does'nt make sense. Should be a great game for both teams; should prepare both of them for the playoffs.
