Knox Co beat Scott Co 39-37 today when Cannidy (sp) hit a 15 footer with 15 seconds left. Scott Co had a couple chances to tie in the final seconds but couldn't convert. Knox was up 25-9 late 2nd quarter before SC made a run that tie the score at 31. Was a great early season game. SC played without Portwood due to illness.

Yes Canady looks very mature for his age. What he lacks in skills he makes up with his athleticism.

Now, now Skyhoops I think you have a point but to say he is their LaBron is an exxageration. Richardson is what makes that team go and they have a couple of nice outside shooters who certainly allow Portwood the ability to "get his" by teams covering the perimeter.

This is actually backwards in your thinking. Portwood's ability on the inside alllows the shooters to get theirs, not the other way. Plus, he sees the floor so well he is able to find the open shooters.

Agreed, I was thinking that was a 7th grade tournament. I am very confused and apologize. He is Labron to the 7th Scott County team. Portwood would still make a huge difference in the 8th grade team but nothing like 7th.

 

I have also heard stories about Canada from the boys at Meece since he was a 6th grader. I think he was a man then.

What 8th grade teams are undefeated at this point. I think Lincoln Co. and possibly Knox Central are undefeated and both have played tough competition so far this season.

Clinton County is 16-0 with it's biggest wins coming over Russell County 8th, Warren Central (Moss) 8th, Warren East 8th, and winning the Bowling Green Invitational. Clinton County would be a factor in the 8th grade state but I think Ian Asher is being added to the varsity roster and will not be playing at the middle school after Xmas break. He could be seeing some varsity action, he can play.

There is no state rule, just school policy, which is different from system to system.
