February 13, 200917 yr I see Lincoln Co. in the final four playing Knox Central. The bottom bracket could have S. Laurel playing Scott Co. in the elite eight. Mayfield or Clinton Co. could make some noise and throw that prediction for a loop.

They played last night and was ahead by 30 and the coach still had the starters in through the third period. Tonight it was mainly starters the whole game. They played hard... Lexington played harder.
February 13, 200917 yr Lexington Catholic has a very well coached team and if you are not on your game they will beat you. Losses like this can sometimes be good in the long run when you can show your team that they can be beaten if they do not play hard and focused for the whole game.
February 13, 200917 yr Author The brackets are terrible. The bottom bracket is absolutely loaded with South Laurel, Scott County, and Mayfield. Mayfield is the team to beat in that bracket. The third bracket is easily the weakest, I have no idea who will come out of that one. The sleeper in the 2nd bracket is Grayson County. Remember me telling you folks that Moss was the real deal in the 7th grade early in the year. Well, Grayson is the real deal, look for them to beat Knox. The top bracket is solid, I like Lincoln or LTMS.

February 13, 200917 yr Don't forget Ross Point, from Harlan county. This a very athletic team and very well coached. That 3rd bracket has 4 or 5 teams in it alone that could make a good final 4 team. Scott County, Quinn, Portwood and their supporting cast speaks for themselves. Mayfield, Don't know much about them...but hear their big and fast. Ross Point, Very Athletic and well coached... Bell County, could be a tough out if they have already combined their Elementary Schools. ????? Clinton, I hear they've played well this year. South Laurel, Should be a contender the only thing is they have not played in over 4Weeks. Their some heavy hitters in this bracket and with 3 games a day should be interesting. I know their some others I have not seen play or heard about that can play in this bracket.

They played the first 4 minutes of the 3rd quarter. Then sat on their 30 point lead the rest of the game, and finished out winning by 31. Lincoln and Catholic played hard... It was a great game to watch and could have gone to either team. Lincoln should have won the game in regulation, but Catholic hit a shot with 11 seconds on the clock to tie the game. Congratulations to Catholic. That was the last game of their season. Lincoln now looks ahead to the state tournament with a 30 and 1 record. If they take this loss and use it as motivation in the state tournament they should be fine. It depends a lot on how hard the kids work this week to prepare for the state. February 13, 200917 yr The top bracket is Lincoln's to loss. Either Madison Middle, LTMS or Northern could give them a game in the elite eight but they should cruise. The second bracket I like Knox Co., but there are some teams that could be playing good basketball at the right time that could surprise me (Wayne Co., Clay Co.) The Friday night match up between Grayson and Elkhorn should be interesting.

February 13, 200917 yr Johnson County got a tough draw. Start with Hopkins Central, then play Scott County if we lose or South Laurel if we win. We will be playing with our 7th grade team, so it will be very tough, but a good experience.
