They have been in it the last several years, and won it last year. Hmmmmmmmm.........:idunno: Catholic was the first alternate this year if a team had dropped out. West Shelby Beat Garrard & Mercer beat Boyle in the other two first round games. Second Round... Lincoln beat Casey & West Shelby beat Mercer Finals... Lincoln beats West Shelby in OVERTIME by 2 points. Lincoln 8th improves to 28 wins and 0 losses & West Shelby falls to 17 wins and 2 losses

(had to throw them in there just because they seem to have a strong program), .....just to name a few.

February 9, 200917 yr Author Weren't Scott County and Christian County in the finals last season? I know varsity play can come into play for some teams, not in Scott County obviously, but Christain County or Russell County? Russell has an 8th grader (Robertson)playing varsity that I don't think will play in the state tournament and it will greatly effect them.

Yes, I think Christian Co. beat Lincoln Co. in the Final four by 4 points last year then lost to Scott Co. by 1 point in the championship. Christian Co. should have a good returning team barring injury or kids playing up. I also think Lincoln is playing even better this year than last. They are 28-0... The best teams they have played this year are Lexington Catholic (won in overtime by 5 @ Catholic), West Shelby (won in overtime by 2 @ Boyle Co. HS), Wayne Co. (won by 31 at Lincoln), & Meece (Somerset) twice (won by 20+ @ Lincoln & 16 at Meece).
February 10, 200917 yr It sound like there will be 64 teams in the 8th grade state. Just like the NCAA bracket. As of last night they were 64 teams and waiting on 4 other teams to let the KBA, know if they were playing. I don't' know if that was 4 teams already in the field of 64 or 4 new teams.
February 11, 200917 yr Lincoln Co.'s 8th grade team was back in action last night in the semi-finals of the Salt River Conference Tournament against Danville. Lincoln won by 19 points (pushed their record to 29-0), and is now set to face Boyle Co. in the Championship game at Boyle Co. Middle School tonight at 7:30 I will post the results of that game tomorrow.

But they play Lexington Catholic at Lincoln tonight. Catholic will be out for revenge because Lincoln beat them by 5 in overtime at Catholic earlier in the season. I don't think Catholic has another loss all year. It should be a good game to watch. Congratulations to Boyle Co. Their 8th grade team upset Mercer Co. to get to the finals. They have had a great end to their basketball season. Their kids played hard for their coach last night and deserve some recognition.

February 13, 200917 yr Unless I'm reading it wrong, Clinton Co. and Mayfield could possibly face off in the 2nd rd. of bracketplay on Saturday. That should be fun.
