No not really. If some way, some how, I wake up during the cremation process, my inevitable death will be much shorter than that if I were to wake up in the coffin after being buried.

You know, you can still have the viewing for your family and then be cremated after the funeral service. There are caskets that are made for this. Then your ashes can be buried and you don't have to buy a cemetery plot. You can bury them on someone elses grave, put a small headstone of marker at the foot of the grave and then your family still has a place to "visit", leave flowers, etc...

 

 

If my kids don't come visit me when I'm alive, I'm pretty sure my grave will be derelict and overgrown in no time. :lol: I'm safer to be cremated and, at the least, have my ashes thrown out of a car window, than have a permanent symbol of how forgettable I was forever in a neglected grave. :lol:

Cremation all the way for me. I don't like the idea of laying somewhere and rotting. I still haven't made up my mind on where I want my ashes to go, but I certainly don't want them sitting on a shelf somewhere.

I agree. I do not know the woman and I did not ask but I see what you are saying.

I also read a story of a woman in Australia who was widowed at a young age due to a car accident. She had her husbands ashes injected into her breast implants so that she "would always have him close to her heart". That is freaky in my book.:creepy:

Wow. That's creepier than my story IMO.

My parents and grandparents are buried in a family cemetary and I suppose I shall be also some day. I put flowers on their graves on Memorial Day, as was the tradition when I was a child. Occasionally, on their birthdays or Mother/Father's Day, I will place a single rose on their grave. However, I do not believe in worshipping the grave site as my parents' souls are in heaven and not in the ground. I place flowers there as a symbol of respect and so that others know that they were loved while they were alive. It brings me no relief or less grief to visit the grave. Memories keep them alive in my heart forever.

But I do want the funeral home viewing and church service. I then can be thrown into the snap, crackle and pop fire pit, put my ashes on the mantel and have a grand ole party ....ok not to much fun since I don't get to be there :irked::irked::irked: and to my real friends you better pour a little cocktail into the ole urn!!
