Used to use the stuff occasionally....

Our high school quarterback trained himself to swallow his dip spit so he could dip in class. About 3 years after high school he had part of his jaw removed surgically because he had oral cancer.

No thanks....

My roommate in college did this crazy...

I have a guy that I work with who swallows his dip spit. I don't see how he can do it.

That takes all the fun out of it

Any of you all every dipped Hawken? It comes in a green can and is wintergreen flavored. It isn't very stout and almost taste like having a Cert in your mouth. It's about the only stuff I could ever dip without getting sick.

Anyway, I used to dip occasionaly but haven't in a couple of years.

Hawkens is good. It can be dipped or chewed from what I understand. It's a favorite of some pro ball players.

At first I chose Grizzly due to the price, but now I'm flat hooked.

I love Hawken but wasn't going to post it, was afraid I would be called a sissy. I'm with eagle, it is the only thing I can dip and not blow grocerys.

You can chew because it is not close to being fine cut. I don't dip it much but enjoy one every know and then. I really enjoy it sitting in a deer stand. Most dips have a pepper taste to me and burn my mouth, Hawkens doesn't. It taste like wintergreen candy. It is getting hard to find in Henderson though. I think Wal-Mart is the only place that carries it and it's like $5 a can.

There was a fast fuel in Henderson that use to carry it but quite last year. Last time I bought any was at the Wally World in Princeton. I know Henderson Wal-Mart carries it too. I didn't realize but it is made by the company that makes Kodiak and Grizzley.

Anyone ever tried Beech Nut Wintergreen? What's it like?

I am going to have to try this stuff then. Anyone ever had Kayak Grape? It smells beautiful and tastes decent.

I didn't realize that either.

As far as trying to get it somewhere other than Wal-Mart here in Winchester most people at gas stations or tobacco marts look at you like your stupid when you ask them if they have Hawken. I just say never mind and drive on over to Wal-Mart.

I used to dip a can a day but now I am married to a dental hygienist and she got all over me. Now, I only dip while golfing, long distance driving (if she isn't with me) and football friday's. I love it from 3pm until 10:30pm.

I used to do it ocassionally back in HS, but looking back I have no idea how or why. Got sick one night when I accidently swallowed some after we'd been drinking. Don't think I ever dared to swallow it ever again.

My first dip was after my first varsity start, and a Senior said that I would have to throw one in afterwards. I said no way, and he said if I got a double-double I would have to. I agreed to that. Unfortunately, I had like 13 pts and 11 rbs. I tried putting it in on a pitch black bus ride back from Dunbar and got the Skoal Vanilla all over my mouth and face. I think I would have puked had it been Grizz or Cope.

I think it had a reverse effect on me though. If I think back to my game logs, throughout my career, I would consistently put up 8 points and 11 rebounds, 12 points and 9 rebounds, etc. It was like Pavlov's Dog, but in reverse and with tobacco.

Has anyone ever taken a can of Kodiak mint when it's been chilled, perhaps left in the car during the winter and then put one in right away. Ah between the coolness of the dip and the mint, it's great, your lip goes numb. When doing that I couldn't tell you how many times I've rubbed my lower lip thinking I was drooling on myself.
