I have quit for 12 years now and it's a struggle everyday! Especially during baseball season when they show all the closeups of the baseball players with huge dips or when my buddies come over and pull out a large dip.

I dipped Copenhagen and Kodiak switching back forth for over 18 years. Has anybody ever packed it down tight in a can and put a couple of drops on Vodka in it ( to moisten ) and place into the refrigerator for a couple of hours ? What a kick it has ( or had )!

I think it's funny how you can tell when famous people or people on tv are dipping that you usually wouldn't have noticed if you weren't a dipper as well.

Agreed. Everytime I'm watching games with my friends I notice it but they never do.

I was having this same conversation with one of my buddies the other day, I can't believe how many NFL players dip.

Or even caoches and assistant coaches. It's really not that surprising when you think about it. I knew alot of guys that dipped rather than smoked because smoking made them winded when they'd play. Makes sense for an NFL guy to have enough of a head on their shoulders to do the same, even though half of what they do on their own time doesn't make much sense.

True that, I dipped and smoked from the time I was 13 till the time I was 22. When I dipped only, I felt 100 times better than when I primarily smoked. I quit smoking, and have dipped once in 6 years, and even though the absence of dipping is like living without a friend you grew up with, or a close cousin even, I do feel 100 times better nicotine free. I still miss it though on occasion. I can tell a big difference in my pocket book too.

Yea it definitely get's expensive. I'd say at this point, I only dip a can a week or so. Depends on how much "socializing" I do during the weekend.

I dip a can of COPE a day, everyday for the last 30 years! Unless I am fishing, watching a good game or doing something exciting and then its closer to 3 cans! Add that money up and I might not be driving a 82 jeep wrangler. lol

Warren Sapp used to put the dip in his socks and stick it between his toes during games.

I chew about a can a day and have for close to 20 years. I quit a while back for a couple of years and was out hunting with a buddy and took a dip of his and was addicted all over again. Timberwolf Peach is my brand at this time. Used to be Skoal Longcut but it got to expensive.

I am going to have to try this stuff then. Anyone ever had Kayak Grape? It smells beautiful and tastes decent.

I tried the Kayak grape as well as a few other Kayak flavors. I got them from a Boone County Sheriff who said they were given out as free samples at the station. Can't say I really enjoyed it that much.

dipped for 26 years. 14 months ago I just got tired of it and haven't had 1 since. It's just a trigger that goes off in your head that tells you when it's time to give it up. Haven't had a craving since and still trying to figure out why I would put something in my mouth just to spit it out!

I've tried that before but I cant seem to keep it packed. Do you use pouches?

No pouch, I place it right in front, and it's actually easier to keep packed than in the lower lip.

I notice them too.

I think Mack Brown from Texas is a dipper. Maybe someone else can confirm. He has got the look on the sideline, but I suspect it is a Skoal Bandit...see if you all think he is next time the Horns are on.

Carson Palmer was dipping last week on the sidelines. Warren Sapp was never bashful.

Never have tried the upper lip dip...would seem tough to keep compact.

Ryan Freel is an upper lip dipper.

Tubby Smith dips. A friend of mine used to valet in Lexington and took a pinch from his Skoal can while parking his SUV.

Dippers notice these things.

Started out chewing.

Red Man Golden Blend. When playing softball, would make a nice ole gum-ball. Two pieces of regular Bubble Yum gum....chew it up and then wrap it around a ball of RedMan and chomp on. Terry Francona is a huge chew-gum-ball guy.

SuperAmerica has 2 cans for 6.19...but usually the best bets are the smaller liquor stores where you can get two for $5.61 including tax.

If I go cheap it is for Red Man longcut.

Tried Grizzly, tried Timberwolf...both bout made me throw up.

While on this topic, I have never done this and could never think of doing. Back in college a few friends of mine short on cash and out of dip, emptied their spit cups, strained them and re-dipped.:creepy:

I always thought Tubby chewed, but wasn't sure. I also noticed CP with a fat lip, he doesn't seem like the type to chew.

I've tried Hawken before but can't remember why I haven't tried it again....must have been bad or nothing worth remembering, IDK.

For those that question all the Grizzly users. IMO, it's the best cheap dip out there.

Yeah, it's not as good as Kodiak or Skoal, but it's a heck of a lot better than something like, say....Husky.

Hawkens good to get your nicotine fix but it won't buzz you like grizzly does.
