October 21, 200817 yr When I got my license at 15, I started driving this super cute cavalier that I called spearmint But a year later I began driving my BMW, which was a lot more fun to drive. They both went through some rough times with me. I still see the cavalier driving around here from time to time as a kid from CCH owns it now. RIP BMW.
October 21, 200817 yr 2000 Pontiac Sunfire... 110K miles on it when I bought it for $3,000... Replaced the power steering pump 3 times in a year. Aside from that fact, it was a good little car.

October 21, 200817 yr My parents gave me a car my freshman year at EKU. A 1965 VW Bug. It got me where I wanted to go. A year later I bought for $1600 a '79 Bright Orange Pinto with a stuffed Garfield on the dash to match. Added a cassete player and it already had a side mounted FM changer with 8 track player. :thumb: Had that car until after college. Never needed to change the oil, just add a quart every so often. This is an interesting thread because this week I bought my son his first car. He's going to be 18 next month and we've never been able to afford getting him a car. A friend sold me his one owner 1993 Ford Taurus SHO with 154,000 miles on it. It has all the bells and whistles, sun roof, and that 24 valve overhead cam sports Yamaha engine. I thank God my son has never been much of a lead foot or I would not have done that for him. But it was affordable and the look on his face was worth everything in the world to me. My son never once whined, complained or got upset with us because we had not bought him a car during this whole first year or so of driving. Just thought I'd share.
October 21, 200817 yr 1977 Plymouth Volare, 3 speed on the column. Just like the one in the picture, only brown. I don't believe there was an uglier car ever made.

October 21, 200817 yr 1953 Studebaker hardtop. I went to the auto museum in Reno a couple of years ago and they had one the same as mine. I was glad I was by myself because I almost cried.
October 21, 200817 yr I had a white 96 S-10 Chevrolet and the transmission went out on that thing at least 3 times.
