October 21, 200817 yr This weekend I seen the first car I had driving around. I cant even remember what it was all I remember was that it was an old Chrysler. It had 170,000 miles on it and after the first month I had it, the transmission was slowly going out on it. I had to drive in 2nd gear the whole time and I couldn't go past 30 in it.
October 21, 200817 yr It was a pale blue Monte Carlo. Got it pretty cheap and drove the living devil out of it. I bought it in 1988 I believe ?
October 21, 200817 yr a 1996 Monte Carlo, had around 130,000 miles on it when I got it. Had some kind of problem with it but no one, not even the dealer, could figure out what it was....But man did that car fly... Now I have a 2002 Grand Prix.
October 21, 200817 yr A 1957 Mercury Monterey convertible with a push button transmission . Got it in '66 .
October 21, 200817 yr A 1974 Oldsmobile. The passenger side window leaked. If I had a date, and it was raining, I had to give my date a plastic bag to put on her lap to keep from getting soaked.:lol:
October 21, 200817 yr I'll bet I have got one you never heard of: 1961 Vauxhall Victor Super station wagon, a cool little car made in England by GM, had leather interior which was rare back in the day and a syncromesh transmission which was very rare as well. 4cyl. overhead cam and would fly. My grandpa sold it to me. Edited October 21, 200817 yr by Xtiger69
October 21, 200817 yr 1971 V Super Beatle...(yes, one of them old slug bugs LOL)....Oh, it was so fun though. I got a sunroof put on it with a red heart engraved on the sunroof. I painted a red brown color and pin stripped it. I got the windows super tinted. Got sheep skin on front and back seats...along with the steering wheel...LOL...had a big hurkey feather clip hanging off the rearview mirror....I got the car when I was 14 and fixed it up. When I turned 16, it was ready to go...oh, and got a cool stero system in it. Yes, all of that in a bug! LOL. I was so proud of that thing. I got it and it was a rust bucket that did not run. I fixed it up myself. Dad helped out some as well as a boyfriend. I just wanted a project to do myself...as a girl, cheerleader, 14-16, working on a car, well, it was a big accomplishment. I kept that thing for 5 years....bought it when I was 14 for 120 dollars, sold it when I was 19 for 5,000 dolllars. The guy that bought it still has it! I put carpet in that car and all LOL. I hand sanded it, hand primed it, took off all doors and such, did the bondo thing on it and all....really, all by myself. My dad and boyfriend would tell me what to do next, and I would do it. All the guys admired me and thought it was really cool that I would do this and was proud of me for doing it....all the girls thought I was stupid coming to school with oil and all kinds of different stains on my hands! I finally learned about, oh, I can't remember the name of the stuff, but, it is great to get all the stains off your hands...It is orange and has pumice in it (I think)....I rebuilt the engine, changed transmission (with help) and changed brakes....I did it all on that little car. That is something that I can say that I did myself and did a great job doing it!!!
