Last year..closer than expected? Weren't the two scores 48-14 and 35-2? I wouldn't exactly call that close. And you also have to remember these two played late in the season in the first match up so many of the B'wood starters only saw half the game, to rest up for the playoffs and I believe NCC the following week.

 

There were several Beechwood starters sick in the first game. Some tried to play while others watched. As you can see by the score it didn't make much of a difference. I'm actually hoping Bellevue brings their A game as it is pretty boring watching a lopsided win. Unless of course it is against NewCath

That is correct. Both schools have higher enrollment than Beechwood. They did not have a choice. Beechwood has only around 300 students grades 9-12. It is a small class A school.

 

Personally, it would not bother me to see Beechwood move up. I knew when the realignment came along I would miss the fierce competetion with NCC. Beechwood/NCC was always one of the best game of the season.

 

However, there ARE other good teams in 1 A! It makes me mad when people say Beechwood SHOULD move up, just because they are good.:madman:

 

Who said 1A is intended for only the less competetive teams? Bellevue has beaten Beechwood a couple of times in recent history and I guarantee it was the best night of those players high school careers. All class A schools have the ability to become great opponents. To take away good competetion would be an insult to small schools.

The winner of this game has the 1 seed and the loser has the 2 seed. Now to the game. Of course Beechwood is expected to win by 40, but as ES said, if the Bellevue comes out with their A game it could get interesting. Bellevue has a tall Mountain to climb but it CAN be done. This could just be a measuring stick for Bellevue. If they lose, they have a good shot to play them in the playoffs and it will help them to see what they did wrong and how to play them the next time they see them. Anyways good luck boys and I will be there to watch. And boy I would love to hear that fight song:sssh:

I am certain that NCC did not have a choice....they were always on the larger side of class A. HC, I cant swear to it, but I know they are larger than Beechwood. Perhaps a HC fan can clarify....

Beechwood will come out in this one and take care of business, locking up the the district and number 1 seed. What I would like to see is a possible Bellevue/Frankfort matchup in the second round. This week will tell us if Bellevue can play or not. Should be a great next month or so!

Hc has as you said right around 450 or 455.

I'm all for being a homer, but if you voted for Bellvue, you need to post why you chose Bellvue. Beechwood will score at least 40 and won't attempt running up the score, that's just how they handle things.

 

I dont know how you can say that they will not try to run the score up, With under 7 minutes to go and up 21, BW throw the ball deep two times aganist HC. Not what I would call handling things the way you are saying. JMO

They also went deep against Ludlow from about the thirty with under a minute left in halftime to score a touchdown when they were already up by 3 touchdowns.

Only the Bellevue faithful can see anything other than a big win for Beechwood.
