He did. He ducked some too. I think Palin undeniably ducked more, especially when she didn't know the answer. We heard a lot about her energy policy in questions that didn't involve energy.

 

 

Which ones did he duck? As I said before, I did miss the first part of the debate, and had to get up and let the dog out, and then back in, so I was distracted. I admit that. But what I did see, he was very direct in his answers.

Plain and simple, Sarah Palin won this debate. She made Joe look like he was nervous, always back on his heels and disoriented. He came off looking snide and condescending at times and at other times, just a little bumbling. My favorite Bidenism was when he called the people of Bosnia, "Bosniacs." :lol:

 

Sarah Palin accomplished the one thing she had to do. That was to erase the notion that she's not a viable candidate for the vice-presidency. She did so convincingly. Palin was able to get away from the media-edited interviews and speak directly to the American people on a personal level.

 

Expectations were so low for Sarah Palin, all she had to do was not fail and not fall apart. She just had to hold her own. She not only did that; but it could be argued that she bested Joe Biden in this debate.

To some, yes. To other's, no. He didn't impress me a bit. He, as usual, came of as arrogant.

It's a debate. Anyone watching these things expecting to hear solid answers to questions is going to be disappointed.

She won all the hearts and minds she was going to win a month ago. Now its just trying to keep them. And, I dont know if she is doing a great job of that.

I wonder what our armed forces thought of her winking at the camera and shouting out to a 3rd grade class. Or even saying the commanders name wrong who is in Afhghanistan. We don't need a peppy cheerleader, we need a ready president when called upon.

 

Then you don't want Obama. According to his running mate Obama's not ready to be president.

IMO, Biden was WAY more direct and clear with most of his answers than Palin was and I'm not a fan of either. Hell, I've not joined any presidential BGP debates that I know of. I'm just stating what I saw tonight. 100% unbiased.

I agree with you. I'll have to look at the transcript tomorrow, though. I didn't take notes tonight, but I remember him doing it a few times. But, he was usually very deliberate about answering the question.

I think that depends on where you fall on the issues. If you tend to agree more with the McCain/Palin stance, no way Biden was better. If you tend to align more with Obama/Biden, than I agree Biden would be seen as better.

I dont see how you can think anyone really WON this debate. I agree her expectations were low and she did better than most, including myself thought, but I dont think she bested Biden.
