As I've said, I've heard people from Pakistan pronounce it as well and it sure didn't sound like Obama's over the top pronunciation. It's like listening to one of the talking heads say Nicaragua. Very annoying.

And Pakistan can be pronounced either way. As with Iran and Iraq. There is a bit of leeway when pronouncing foreign characters in English.

When I first tuned in, after missing the first part because of errands, she was asked two questions in which she did not even answer the question posed, instead going back to a previous question on energy policy.

 

You obviously watched a different debate then, because neither of them really answered any of the questions.

They both rarely answered the actual questions asked, I just find it humorous that you only bring up the fact that Palin did it.

As I said, I missed the first part of the debate, and it's very possible Biden did the same then. However, if it happened after I started watching, then it may have been when I got up to go let the dog out, or maybe when I went to let him back in.
