September 18, 200818 yr I remember me and one of my good buddies used to always get together for NFL Sundays when I lived in Covington, either going to the bar or watching at my place, and occasionally walking over to Riverfront. We would go to the Party Source (when it was where Jillian's is/was) each week for beer and to pick out random jars of salsa from the wide selection, and we ended up with Dave's Insanity Salsa once. So we start eating the stuff, and after about 10 or so chips we're looking at each other wondering why we're both sweating. Profusely. Slugging beers, but to no avail. Around the corner to the Korean grocery for some milk. Finally got some relief after about a half-hour of pain. We're both drunk, and hard-headed, so we don't give up. Still way too much. Mix it up with a brick of Velveeta for queso dip, but that doesn't much cut the heat, either. I eventually threw the stuff out. No need to risk an ulcer. I know when I'm licked.
September 18, 200818 yr You can never go wrong with Franks, Texas Pete's or Tabasco's. I put hot sauce on basically everything but steak.
September 18, 200818 yr I prefer Tobasco and Louisiana Hot Sauce. I think my encounter w/ Dave's started my heart burn problems.
September 18, 200818 yr My husband LOVES hot sauce and claimed to not be afraid to try any,. Once he tried Dave's Insanity Sauce at Notty Pine on the Bayou. Thought he was having a heart attack!
September 19, 200818 yr I go through a regular bottle of Cholula once per month. I also like Frank's. The Tapatio sauces at some of the local Mexican dives seem to go well with the beer.
September 19, 200818 yr I'm not a big hot sauce guy, but it is something that I always bring back my dad from my travels. It's all he ever wants.
