If the Patriots go 11-5, 12-4, or 13-3.

That is what the majority of people had them at anyway, if that happens is Tom Brady a bit overrated and the system is just that good?

True or False?

Someone had to get hurt to give Brady his chance, maybe this is Cassell's chance. It's the system and experience. Not sure you can call Brady overrated when he was a 6th or 7th round draft pick.

He's won I think 3 MVP's and is widely considered if not the best, then one of the best players in the league.

While I am not saying the Pats will fall off the face of the earth, a backup coming in and keeping a team at the same level is the exception, not the rule. A lot have it in their head just because they are New England and Brady led the team to glory, it will happen the same for Cassell. I am also not fully buying that New England is the same team as in '01. Remember, that team had a young Willie McGinnist, Ty Law, Vrabel, etc. that carried the team. I am questioning this team's defense a lot more than I am questioning their offense. The '01 Pats were carried by the D, not Brady.

They made the Super Bowl last year and went 16-0.

No chance you're going to get anyone to believe they got that much worse in one offseason.

Are they as young as 01, no, obviously, but come on.

There's one player on that field that will help Cassell out tremendously, and that's Randy Moss. We all know Moss can make a quarterback (Culpepper). Therefore, I don't think you can get a true comparison between Brady and Cassell this year. Brady did a lot with no receivers for a few years.

Moss is the best receiver in the NFL when he wants to and when things are going well. I love Randy, but "Straight Cash Homey" will turn on a team in a heartbeat (see Oakland). I assure you if Cassell is not able to get him the ball, things will go south quickly.

I have liked Randy's attitude thus far. Maybe he has matured.

I don't care about all of the system talk, Cassell has not started a game since 1999. Nobody seems worried about him... 1999!!!!!!

Also, it wouldn't be fair to call Brady overrated if that Pats have success this year. Brady has proven time and time again that he is one of the best of all time.

You can't gauge anyone off of how they act in Oakland. I would look at how immature he was in Minneapolis after Chris Carter left. I truly hope that he has matured as well, plus w/ the experience and veteran presence in the locker room, he has no choice but to go along.

1. They lost a few DB's, and that defense is old. They certainly have not improved.

2. If the Patriots get more than 13 wins and Cassel throws more than 3 TD's per game, then I will concede that Tom Brady is overrated. Even if that happens though, what Brady did without the cast was impressive, and what he done with the cast was unheard of. The Pats were winning games with ease last year. If Cassel has as easy of a time as Brady did, then we will see.

Tom Brady is in no way shape or form over-rated....

That's exactly my point. So, did you answer True? If he does that, is it the system?

If the Patriots go 11-5, 12-4, or 13-3.

True or False?

False. They were a good team, with a very good system, and a GREAT QB in Brady. That is why they only lost one game last year. So they will still do good this year because they are just an overall good team. Just because they will do good though, doesn't mean Brady was overrated. Brady for so long did great when he had no receivers until last year.

I don't think that his current head coach has a winning record without Brady if my info from ESPN this past week is accurate. Brady is not overrated. You don't accomplish what he has without being the real deal. And for the record, I have a fevered dislike for Belichek and the Patriots. But you cannot deny what Brady has accomplished. He should go down as one of the all time greats without a doubt.

That is correct.
