September 8, 200818 yr Tough break for the Pats. I've heard ESPN is still saying that they could compete for the AFC title. That would be quite shocking IMO.
September 8, 200818 yr That certainly hurts the patriots chances of going undefeated again this season. Still would like to know exactly what was ijured in the knee. The article doesn't cover any specifics.
September 8, 200818 yr That certainly hurts the patriots chances of going undefeated again this season. Still would like to know exactly what was ijured in the knee. The article doesn't cover any specifics. I'd say it hurts their playoff chances more than anything. I'm not sure undefeated was ever a realistic goal this year.
September 8, 200818 yr I never wish an injury like this on anyone. I am not a Brady fan, I like Belicheck and the Pats much less than Brady. He will be fine, therefore, and am not upset whatsoever by this. Karma is a mother.
September 8, 200818 yr Horrible news. I don't like Brady or the Pat's but I never like to see a season ending injury. I bet Randy Moss will be giving his old buddy Daunte Culpepper a call.
September 8, 200818 yr Losing one of the most popular players and arguably the best player in the league sucks for the NFL. It definitely put a damper on the opening weekend for me. Knowing that Brady was likely done for the year hung over the rest of the day like a black cloud... I'm sure he'll come back next year and be fine, but I hate to see any player, especially HOFers lose a year of their career during their prime.
September 8, 200818 yr Author Who will they go out and sign, to be a backup? Heard their bringing Chris Simms in for a workout.
September 8, 200818 yr Heard their bringing Chris Simms in for a workout. Good grief. If going to New England is anything like the rest of Chris Simms career, I'm sure he'll come down with leprosy or some other debilitating ailment that will keep him from playing.
September 8, 200818 yr I thought they were also bringing in Rattay. He'd probably flourish there. Heck, with their track record, he'll be the Pro Bowl starter.
September 8, 200818 yr Off the subject a little, but this exemplifies the reason why I only played fantasy football for one season. First (I didn't have access to a computer on draft day) the first-round pick assigned to me was someone who had had a season-ending injury before the season started. It seemed like there were significant injuries every week. During game 1, a receiver on the team that my fantasy team was playing against wnet down with a knee injury. At first, I was happy. I then quickly realized how "wrong" that was. I didn't want anybody to get hurt just so my fantasy team had a better chance to win. Anyway, I stuck to baseball after that 1 year.
September 8, 200818 yr This kind of makes the season less fun for me. I hate Brady and the Pats, but not having him there is like watching a scary movie without a bad guy.
