September 7, 200818 yr It was in poor taste. It isn't a great excuse, but UK fans are just adjusting to football. I bet 10,000 of those folks were first timers!
September 7, 200818 yr It was in poor taste. It isn't a great excuse, but UK fans are just adjusting to football. I bet 10,000 of those folks were first timers! That is a good point. For some of us older fans who have endured countless heartaches, it just wasn't "boo" time.
September 7, 200818 yr I posted this in the UK game thread and I will repeat it here. I have season tix up in Sec. 206 row 35. There were little to NO boos up in that area. Seriously. I THINK (not sure but it seemed pretty obvious) that MOST of the boos came from the upper and lower student sections. I GUESS I can forgive them easier. When i was 19, I might have done the same thing. UK fans need to do better. The program really is on the rise. PP, I was gettting ready to post something that would agree with this. I would almost bet that the people booing are non-parents, who have never had a child playing any kind of sports.:thumb:
September 8, 200818 yr Ummmm..... Since when does a coach have to run his game plan by the fans? Oh...and your comment about basketball....while UK football is on the rise, I don't think the unrealistic expectations applied to the basketball program are warranted yet for football. That is not what I mean. He said all Louisville week that Cobb would play. Well an undeserved victory formation is not what I call playing time. Hartline should have been in there for playing a smart? no bad decisions? safe? kiss your sister kinda game. Cobb is a winner and the people in the stands see it! Rich did not say anything to anyone (which I agree he shouldn't) that he had a series or two picked out for Cobb. (Notice that after the game, next week Cobb will play according to Rich) We didn't expect a Hartline benching so early in the season. I was supprised that he was out after two or three series. Cobb led the team to points. That is exactly what I saw. At that point in the game Hartline didn't. OH BTW..65 Thousand people pay $40 or more for tickets to watch KY win. I do expect our football team to be as good as the basketball team. Why do we always expect less out of the football team. I want them to win.. AND WIN NOW!

UK's best chance to win in the SEC this season is with Hartline under center. Cobb needs to be playing WR to give Hartline another threat out wide.
September 8, 200818 yr Then move Cobb to receiver. We have 2 more games to figure this out. He needs to be on the field.
September 8, 200818 yr Then move Cobb to receiver. We have 2 more games to figure this out. He needs to be on the field. I totally agree. I think Cobb is the better qb but if we are goin to have Hartline start then we have to have a way to incorporate cobb in the offense.
September 8, 200818 yr Hey Rich drink some pepto. Let the paying fans boo if they want to and cheer if they want, and they'll let you do the coaching.
September 8, 200818 yr I don't think the no TO's is a justification for a kid to get the majority of playing time. He basically produced nothing while he was on the field in probably twice the snaps Cobb took. The team looked completely different with Cobb at QB, and that's where he should be. I don't think Hartline even got a first down his first two series.
September 8, 200818 yr I agree that it is stupid to boo like that. Good job Rich. :thumb::thumb::thumb:
September 8, 200818 yr Were there any recruits at the game that heard our wonderfull fan base act like children??? G

Thank goodness the football program doesn't take a fan vote for decisions... If they did, I'd hate to think who our coach would be right now, because it sure wouldn't be Rich Brooks...
September 8, 200818 yr I dont understand. He's a CAT and he's the starter so why are people booing him??
