Rudi Johnson signs with Lions

Featured Replies

I guess his next stop after Detroit is Arizona. Get a nice tour of the better run organizations in the NFL.

Not great news for Kevin Smith owners.

Good news for stupid people that took Rudi in the 4th round.

I am trying to figure out that message as well.. all I heard was how good he is looking, but he is a rook. I guess having depth isn't bad either.

Rudi is a good player just wasn't working out for the bengals any longer.

I had them both! :thumb:

I wish Rudi nothing but the best.

Will he be the starter? I have Rudi (as my 3rd back)

I am glad that I didn't take Kevin Smith...but I think that's a good spot for Rudi.

I just marvel at how quickly things change in the NFL. It's just such a different beast than all the other major sports. Where else can a guy go from being the NFL MVP to unemployed in 2 years? Or in the case of Rudi, being "the" guy in a high-octane offense and a consensus Top 10 fantasy pick to being waived in two years. It's just really strange to me.

I wish him luck, but at this point how effective will he be? I think Rudi's days as a #1 back are behind him, two bad hammys won't help his cause. At this point I think the Lions are looking for a bit of depth at RB since they aren't sold on Bell, and just recently cut Pinner and Calhoun. I wouldn't be too concerned if I were Kevin Smith at this point.

Rudi made us all proud for a while and I wish him the best. I was tired of watching him run the past couple of years.
