I don't know much about her but I thought her speech at the Convention was absolutely awful.

 

:thumb: I've seen Palin speak several times, including her acceptance speech, and I have yet to be even remotely impressed. I have yet to see her in a debate format, although I did see her on a 24-news channel (forgot which one) arguing for drilling, but I can't imagine she can put forth anything remotely compelling regarding foreign policy or the economy, which are tricky subjects to begin with.

Sara Palin has shown far more personal and political courage that Barack Obama. In her encounters with corrupt elements in her own party, she confronted and defeated them. Obama found a way to work with similar people on the south side of Chicago.

 

If Sara Palin is not qualified to be our news VP by the the courage and leadership that she has demonstrated in getting where she is today, then Barack Obama is certainly not qualified to the next president of the United States. Good campaigning should not be confused with good governance.

Based on the minimal information available, Ms. Palin is to be commended for her 20 months as Governor (assuming the whole abuse of power thing doesn't blow up). She is qualified to be President--she's old enough and she was born here.

You miss the point. He doesn't have to bring it up. If 72 year old John McCain ever tries to play the experience issue again, he gets smoked for selecting a VP with less education and experience than Obama. The issue of experience, once a strength for McCain, has now been neutralized.

I meant it in the term that think ONLY the Democrats can represent their views. And I personally think that is a minority number.

Some though, and this is the important group, will give McCain a second look that they might not have given him before. Now it is up to McCain/Palin to seal the deal. And I think they will.

 

I hope they will. Cause there is about 3500 unborn babies lives per day that is hinging on it and the Supreme Court justices that they will appoint.

There is actually plenty of information out there about Sarah Palin if you know where to look, as I am sure there is on any state governor. Maybe what you mean is that there is very little in the way of negative stories available yet. That is probably because her selection caught Obama's opposition researchers off guard. She must have made plenty of political enemies in both parties. You don't put corrupt politicians in jail without somebody holding a grudge.

 

Be patient. I am sure that Obama and Biden will dig up some kind of dirt on Palin. If not, they can always claim that the Alaskan newspapers are run by bitter people clutching their Bibles and clinging to guns who are suspicious of people who are not like them. :lol:

There were a few different reasons. I generally don't enjoy the speeches at events like this in the first place because of the mindless applause that goes on but she spoke one sentence at a time for what seemed like hours and that's very annoying to me. It was also very poorly written imo and very elementary in substance, even by your average political standards which are already pretty bad. I just don't think that the first time the hopeful VP speaks to the American people a few months before the election she should have to spend an hour telling everyone who she is. It sounded more like an ad in the personal pages to me than it did an acceptance speech by a possible Vice President.

My wife and mother are two that voted for Hillary in the spring and now are saying they will be voting for McCain.
